Great Food, but Service could be improved
I've had the chance to dine at this tavern three times, and I'd like to share my honest experience. The first two visits were nothing short of delightful - both the food and the service were impeccable. The flavors of Greece truly shined through in the dishes, and the staff were attentive and prompt.
However, my enthusiasm took a hit during my third visit. Unfortunately, a dish was forgotten for me, and it was only after I pointed it out that an apology was extended. Though I understood that mistakes can happen, I believe that acknowledging such incidents promptly is crucial to maintaining customer satisfaction.
Hoping that this was just an isolated incident, we decided to give the tavern another chance for a fourth visit. Regrettably, the experience was disappointing. We waited nearly an hour for placing our order and even after requesting to place an order, we endured an additional 15-minute wait without any progress. Ultimately, we made the decision to leave.
It's important to note that the highlight of each visit was undoubtedly the food. The flavors were consistently exceptional, capturing the essence of Greek cuisine with finesse.
While the culinary aspect of this tavern seems to be consistent, the disparity in service quality left me questioning the overall experience.
I can only hope that my review will be taken constructively and I believe that with improved attention to service, this tavern should become a must-visit destination for lovers of...
Read moreMyself and my family had a dinner at Taverna Faros and each one of us was extremely satisfied by the quality of service, food, view, and overall atmosphere. My sister had a birthday and I went to talk to the staff to find us a good table with a view over the sea and they were very professional and helpful - in the end, we got the best table in my opinion. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking. People were coming right next to our table just to take photos of the sunset. The food was delicious, fresh and the portions were great. We had variety of dishes so I couldn’t recommend any particular one as they were all different but great in taste and flavour. At the end of our dinner, I’ve secretly asked one of the waiters to prepare a surprise for my sister by making her a cake with a candle and although they weren’t prepared for it neither they had cakes, they managed to serve an amazingly looking dessert, stopped the music and the whole restaurant sang “happy birthday” alongside us to make my sister and mom crying out of happiness. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion, no doubt one of the best places I’ve been to on the...
Read moreTerrible experience – avoid this place!
We found the restaurant on Google, called ahead, and made a reservation for six people. When we arrived, the view was indeed beautiful—but sadly, that was the only good part of the entire experience.
Apart from the starters (fish salad and Greek salad), everything else we ordered was clearly reheated: the chicken, fries, and lamb chops. Not only was the food reheated, but it also had a strange, almost rotten taste and a suspicious color. It was completely inedible.
We only touched the starters and each had a beer before deciding to leave, as the rest of the food was unacceptable.
But then things got worse. The manager became aggressive and forced us to pay the full bill of €97.30, even though we only consumed a small part of it. We explained that we were only willing to pay for what we actually ate, which is the fair and reasonable thing to do—but we were scammed.
We were honestly shocked by the manager’s and staff’s attitude. They serve you reheated, possibly spoiled food, and whether you eat it or not, you’re still made to pay.
This place is a...
