This is a charming boutique hotel right in the heart of the old jewish quarter called barbouta. It has been renovated to a high standard offering top notch modern amenities but still retaining many of its original features. We stayed in the loft room which was very cosy but quite dark (it only has 2 small windows that don’t allow much natural light), had a great bed and mattress, lovely shower and a fancy bathtub outside the bathroom. You need to climb 2 flights of steep stairs so heavy luggage would be a bit tricky… Also the ceiling in the loft room is very low on one side, so of you’re taller than 5’2 you may end up hitting your head a few times! Breakfast is served in the room and was quite nice. The area is very quiet but feels totally safe… Bring a pair of flats as the cobbled streets can be quite steep. And don’t miss drinking a coffee by the river (only 2 min walk from the hotel) where your coffee arrives by a cable travelling tray!!!|TIP: as there is no reception make sure you receive an email with instructions on how to get in!!! Ours never arrived on time but luckily there was a lady there, that helped us and had no issues. Also the parking spots in front of the hotel are very limited but there is a public parking only 2...
Read moreWe arrived at night in Veroia , then hotel uses a system after 6 PM, where they leave you a code and your key and you find your own room. The room is very nicely decorated and some have fire places and jacuzzi. The owner has gone through great effort to restore what used to be very old houses and everything is done with excellent taste and respect for tradition. The good thing is that while you feel you are staying in a hotel with character , the bed is brand new and comfortable, the bath towels fluffy and the wifi sting enough to download any series. In the morning, a very nice woman prepares a very good breakfast in the common dining room and she gives great advice about where to go and what to see. Overall this hotel gives a unique experience and everything is within 10 minutes walking . The city has plenty to show and the people are always nice and welcoming. It’s also one of the rare places in Greece where cars stop for pedestrians. ||All in all a fantastic stay. On the slightly negative side , old houses don’t provide such great soundproof rooms so you better be located next to quiet neighbors. ||Other than that everything was perfect. We would...
Read moreIt is an older hotel which has been upgraded with many new amenities. Google maps says it is a two star hotel, but I think that is way too low. The location is close to many shops and eateries, and it is very quiet at night. Terrific bathrooms, though small, and they don't have a place to eat for breakfast, but they deliver it to your room! The first night it poured rain and we had a slight water leak and the next day they insisted on moving us to a suite. That shows the kind of people they are, offering service above and...
