Blue Horizon — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Because the tickets where non refundable, we couldn’t do a thing regarding the accomodation. When we arrived the owner told us that the room will be cleaned daily, which they weren’t, and we had to ask personally for fresh towels. When the cleaning was done, it consisted in just changing the towels and sheets. What shocked me, it was the bathroom... it had a clog of dark brunette hair in the shower’s draining... the water’s temperature was fluctuating on a regular basis. In the last 2-3 days, our neighbours cooked a lot of seafood and the ventilating system was inexistant and all the smell was through all the rooms, especially in the bathroom. I couldn’t stand the smell. Also, when the neighbours started the AC ventilation, it made a big noise that woke me up. Nevertheless, the pictures regarding the furniture and the aspect of the room did not coincide with the pictures posted on booking. There were even ants on the walls and on the floor. The wardrobe was absolutely hideous and awfully smelling. A funny thing that i noticed, was that the key from our room matched all the other rooms... which means that anybody could have entered the room at any time... |Even so, the owner was very kind and friendly. We booked for a week in august from booking.com. Since my first email to property for some details they reply to me very quickly and suggest to me some tips for a good vacation. Maria, who works in reception, was extremely kind and helpful and she booked for us a car in a friendly renting company for a good price. Pavlos and Ioanna the owners arranged any problems for us because our delayed arrival and offered to us drinks and food late in the night! The room was very simple and clean. Only in the bath they would to put a shower curtain to avoid water overflow. We stayed in Blue Horizon apartments for 8 days travelling from Scotland. The place was nice, simple but comfortable rooms cleaned every day while we were out, with private balcony and sea view! TV, air conditioning, fridge and wifi all offered in the rooms. Vasilikos area is close to best beaches on the island and nearby to a trendy commercial area. The owners were very polite, making us free coffee every morning and facilitate our back and forth trip to the airport. Really value for money accommodation with an open clean kitchen area for anyone wanted to prepare a quick snack or meal. Will definitely get back at some point, highly recommended.
