The rooms saving grace was the AC but that wasn’t enough for me to validate spending $230/night for a hotel where the beach was absolutely disgusting and filled with trash. The property itself was beautiful and the area was so clean but I was so disappointed when we tried to go to the beach and there’s trash all over the place. The bathroom also smells like mold and their explanation was that it’s “normal”. Honestly no. If the wood had been treated in the shower to be water resistant or what would have made more sense just used tile and concrete without wood you wouldn’t have that problem. Also a little bleach would help. We spit in the sink and literal black mold came out from under the plug. The staff was great, and so was the food, but I just think it’s way overpriced. We left after one night because I was mislead online about the area and it’s just not a place I’d ever go back to again until they can clean their beaches and maybe improve infrastructure because the power went out 7 times in one night. Again I know they can’t help it but it just didn’t make me want to come back or stay longer. I spent $230 for one night for a trashy beach, no breakfast included, mold in the bathroom, and overpriced drink and food. Just for comparison I’m spending the same for two nights at a 5 star hotel here in the capital.

A wonderful and peaceful place to stay, chill, relax and enjoy the vibes of El Paredon 😍 The hotel is very well located, just in front of the beach and sea (perfect for beautiful sunsets)! We could hear the ocean when we woke up The room are super comfy and well decorated, I really loved the style There are 2 swimming pools and one jacuzzi which is suuuper nice 😊 we felt like in a private villa. I could do my yoga in the morning in the garden Also, Staff was nice and helpful, they helped us organize a tour in the mangrove and our trip back to Antigua. Thanks a lot đŸ™đŸŒ We’ll come back 😍

Really enjoyed our last leg of our Guatemala trip relaxing at Kaana! Rooms were spacious and bed was very comfortable. The hammocks outside of each room was a nice touch. Great location & really enjoyed the shrimp tacos and umbrellas/chairs available to rent to spend the whole day at the beach. Enjoying the sunset with your favorite drink was a plus! Staff was attentive and the best part was just having a running tab and paying at the end of the stay. I would highly recommend this place to anybody!

Both of my vacations at Kaana Surf were amazing! The personalized service at the hotel, restaurant, and the pool was perfect. The staff is so friendly and accommodating to every need. This hotel is a perfect paradise for any beach and sun lover. The food is also incredible! Recommend trying the shrimp tacos/empanadas, ceviche, or seafood pasta. Everything on the menu is spectacular, including the drinks. We also went on a mangrove tour and saw dozens of turtles and took surf lessons with instructors that come to the hotel. Highly recommend trying the surf lessons, even for first-timers! The instructors take you out during low tide so it's easier to learn and you feel safe. They are very knowledgeable and friendly and make sure to teach you what you need to know to be able to surf each time! The hotel and rooms are clean, organized and the beds/bedding quality is so comfortable. Plus the suites have an incredible rooftop pool where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. The rooms downstairs have relaxing and beautiful outdoor showers. All rooms are peaceful and come with hanging balcony hammocks outdoors. Overall, everything is tailored perfectly to enjoy an amazing vacation. I have zero complaints and could not recommend this...
