I found myself extending my stay in El Paredon after a weekend because it's such an amazing place, with a great vibe and many social activities every day. I met Javier, the owner of Macarena, during one of the sunset gatherings on the beach and was lucky enough that he had a tipi available at a great price, seeing as everything gets booked up fast. I loved having a cosy & spacious tipi all to myself, with a very comfy double bed covered by a mosquito net and two towels. The decor inside has a rustic and elegant feel with wooden boards and thatched roof, while the enclosing canvas gives it a glamping vibe and keeps it fresh. Like most beaches in Central America, it gets quite hot, but the big fan provided was enough to keep me cool at night. The wooden furniture is not only functional, but also fits in well with the space, comprising of two nightstands, an open wardrobe to hang clothes on and a big chest that I could lock with my own padlock. The soft yellow lightning is ambiental and there are enough plug sockets to charge multiple devices. I love how creatively they used the small space to create communal hang-out areas by having a modest seating area on ground level with a miniature fridge and a free water fountain as well as a space to store surf boards, but also a terrace above it that can be reached by a ladder and opens up with plenty of hammocks and yoga space. I found that the internet works very well, having worked a bit on my laptop from the snug hammock area. It is a very cute and tiny tipi town, that also offers private AC rooms or individual beds in a dorm, with narrow paths leading to the communal showers and toilets. Though their size is unpretentious, it serves well for quick showers and a low waiting time. The water pressure is good and they kindly provide hand and body soap, as well as shampoo, and the cleanliness of this place is spotless - a thing I value especially in sandy places. The space is well secured with walls and a locked gate that has a code and can be accessed by guests anytime of the day or night. Being a 3 min walk from the beach and very close to other venues like cafes, restaurants, hotels and such means it is conveniently situated in a vibrant and dynamic part of El Paredon, so expect to hear some noise, but it was nothing that ear plugs couldn't solve for me. The staff are very friendly and approachable, but I especially appreciated Javier's eagerness to answer all of my questions and providing me with a list of activities and places to see not only in El Paredon, but also in Antigua and actually inviting me to join him and his friends on a night out and connect with the local community. I will definitely be returning here and thank you for the...
Read moreHad a relaxed stay here with my girlfriend, the cabaña is very nice, even had a little fridge in it. There is a tiny communal area, with above it in a tower two hammacks (all day shade). Another up level is a stargazing net between the cabins, very romantic. Javier the owner is a friendly, helpful guy, also living in one of the cabañas so he can always assist 😁 Wifi is working great! In front of the place there is a nice shop selling stuff you can't get at the little supermarkets in the town: like the refreshing, delicious...
