Maya Excelsior — Hotel in Guatemala City

Very disappointing overall. They first put me in room 305, but it had no hot water. A guy on the staff went with me to the room, and turned the water, and he told me it was hot, then turned it off before I could touch the water myself. He kept doing that to convince me it was hot or that it would eventually get hot, and I kept turning it back on. It was absurd. So they put me in another room where the cold water knob on the shower was broken, but the hot water know worked. The water was warm, not hot, so that was sufficient for me.

This was the pattern for the internet, which was down for 2 full days, and they told me the signal was bad during business hours I the area. But, it stayed down overnight, and they would humor me, saying 'ok', but take no action to check the problem. After I pushed enough, they apparently got someone to fix the internet, so it was 7 mbps...

Es un hotel histórico, con buena ubicación y con relativamente buen historial, que fue el motivo por el que busqué hospedarme en este lugar, sin embargo mi visita pudo haber sido mejor pues desde el inicio me desencanto un poco con mi hospedaje.

Las habitaciones son amplias, pero están mal ventiladas, por lo que la humedad del baño y de otras habitaciones está muy presente en el ambiente y eso no es muy cómodo. Las camas se sienten algo duras y no hay muchas comodidades ni en la ducha. De igual manera, por la humedad, no se siente una gran limpieza en el baño.

Las instalaciones de áreas comunes se ven viejas y algo anticuadas, especialmente el elevador que se ve que necesita mantenimiento constante; la señal del Internet también deja mucho que desear, pues no llega a todas las habitaciones e incluso cambian recurrentemente la contraseña, siendo una molestia para los huespedes.

La atención del staff del hotel también es variable, algunas personas son amables, pero de repente llega a haber gente en recepción que tiene mala cara y aún peor actitud.

Los mejores aspectos para este hotel es que es bastante económico y que tiene una ubicación céntrica para explorar el casco histórico de Ciudad de Guatemala, sin embargo creo que por un poco más de inversión, podríamos tener un mejor hospedaje que el que encontré en...

Rooms are not good. Things are falling apart. This place needs an update in bathrooms at least cause there were no knobs in ours to open hot or cold water. Definitely will not stay here again. This is the first time I got what I paid for. The person who checked us in was nice though and the location is only 15 minutes from the airport, which is why I chose this place but didn't know it...
