We stayed here for 3 nights. Had some bad and good experiences. The bad (or not so good): breakfastroom with a view at the sea was stil closed, so we had to go to a restaurant across the street. With very friendly people though. Breakfast was allright.|On the second day the electricity in our room (and some others) was out of order, so we had to move to a room on the first floor. We could choose out of two; the first one had no curtains on the streetside; allthough we had nothing to hide, that wasn't an option, the second one seemed to be ok allthough I don't prefer a carpet in a hotelroom. When we went to bed unfortunately the shower was dripping and it kept on going all night. We didn't sleep almost all night. And there were big ants in de bathroom. The next day we were moved to another room and compensated properly. The room was the best there was. At the pool, view at the sea. So, what to say? The hotel seems to be a bit worn out and is not cheap (Esther expensive) but has lots of potential, if the basics are right (and fixed). The manager is very kind and helped us in any way. |If you are looking for a nice place to stay just (300 meters form the docks) and have some money to spend, this is the place to stay if you're willing to overlook some...
Read moreOur church sends groups to Guatemala several times a year and we always stay at Posada El Delfin. We have gotten to know Gus, Ira, Arnolfo, Benjamin, Anna, lots of the staff over the course of a few years and we just love visiting with everyone! We usually get in late after a long day of traveling and are always greeted by friendly faces when we arrive (and refreshing tea!). Everyone is so accommodating and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. On one occasion we found ants in our room and had a problem with the air conditioning unit, and the staff quickly relocated us to a different room. All of the common areas are perfect for group meetings, but our favorite spot is out on the pier (although, it's hard to get people out of the hammocks!). The breakfasts across the street in the restaurant are always delicious - I especially like the different fruit juices every morning. The hotel is in a great location - a convenient walking distance into town. We are very busy during the day and it is nice to come back and relax at a quiet, friendly place! There are delicious empinadas across the street at the little store! Be sure to visit Melbourne and Vilma (the owners) - they always take good care...
Read moreI still don't know what to make of Livingston but if you are staying here Posada El Delfin is not a bad choice. Giovanni the manager is very helpful and knowledgeable and all the staff are very friendly. The hotel was clean, the rooms a decent size, the shower did the job and breakfast was a bonus. The swimming pool is good to cool down in and the hammocks on the boat dock are a great place to relax and watch the Pelicans, Frigate birds and the odd Osprey. The rooms can get pretty hot but the rooms have air-con.||I would be a bit dubious about staying in the rooms near the...
