Dios mio! Oh my god! Indian Palace is a great hotel a little outside of touristy Antigua which gives a different perspective of Antigua that is a little more local. Located in a fancy gated community right next to Volcan Agua Indian Palace is a great spot. The hotel itself is very luxurious and while its location is not ideal inside a gated community I believe it is still worth it. The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, terrace, spa, game room, and convention center. The hotel has also earned its name Indian Palace as basically all of the furniture and statues in the hotel(and there are a lot) are imported from India giving the hotel a unique and authentic vibe. The room itself that we were in was enormous. It had 3 comfy beds, a humongous closet, and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi and 2 sinks. Luxury at its finest. The best part of the hotel in my opinion was the staff. The manager Julio is a great guy and a very accommodating and kind man. He clearly cares about the hotel and so does the rest of the staff who make all of the meals and clean the rooms. Julio gave us a twenty minute tour of the property and even played Jenga with us. It made me sad to see Indian Palace barely have any visitors when it is just at nice if not nicer than any of the other touristy hotels in Antigua. Please give Indian Palace a visit even though it’s off the beaten path solely because it...
Read moreThis is one of the most wonderful hotels I've ever stayed in! The family that runs it is lovely and the staff is super friendly, including Koa, the most adorable French bulldog.
As soon as you pass through the massive wooden doors, imported from India along with the rest of the exquisite furnishings, you encounter one of the most delectable indoor pools I've ever seen, made of marble with a fountain and jets and you haven't even left the "lobby" yet.
You can have an exquisite breakfast brought to your room as you wake up to the sound of birdsong.
And climb to the rooftop terrace, and it's almost scary how massive the volcano is, looking right down on top of you, as you sit to the south of town, with a totally unimpeded view.
The location is just to the south of town but I found that this brought unexpected pleasures by allowing me to see areas of Antigua I otherwise would never have seen. Otherwise it's only $4 uber trip into town or you can do what I did each day which was to walk into town, taking various routes, exposing me even further to unexpected delights that most tourists would miss.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough!! A...
Read moreI don’t understand the five star reviews here at all. This is a hotel with nice people but who have no idea on how to treat and manage a business. I was moved to different rooms three times on a moment’s notice. Housekeeping is provided begrudgingly, the WiFi is inconsistent, at best and hot water was on reliable. Give this hotel a miss....
