We were in Monterrico for only 2 nights and had booked one of the hostels in town that had great reviews and cheap prices. After one horrible sleepless night there (filled with stained sheets and LOTS of noise from neighboring guests on both sides of the paper-thin walls and a mouse and centipede to welcome us to the morning after my sister felt something crawling in her hair in the darkness), we went on a search for something better and are SO grateful we found El Capitan! Seriously- the service and cleanliness here were absolutely amazing. The staff was so attentive and welcoming and even looked out for us when some creeps approached us on the beach. Yes, it cost a little more than the other place, but it was SO worth it! Plus it included free breakfast, so it balanced out. But the peace of mind and the good nights sleep in a clean place was definitely amazing. And the food was great! This place is HIGHLY recommended! Read moreOur check in was very smooth. The room was beautiful, I liked the design and finishes. I will have to say that the food was overpriced for what you got and breakfast was not included. The drinks were expensive too and they said that there is a Q5000 fine if you bring in your own drinks...ah no, can you not threaten your guests. I had no wifi even though I had the correct details which was given to me at reception; what can it possible cost to install good wifi... The staff were very friendly however I don't think I will return to this hotel...
Read moreEs un buen lugar para descansar, el costo es bastante accesible, la playa muy limpia, hay regaderas que dan hacia el mar sin costo. Le falta un poco de mejora visual, pero vale la pena.
Muy cerca de este hotel (caminando al nosrte) esta el acceso para las lanchas. Por costos entre GTQ30 (USD4) y GTQ10 (USD1.25) podrás hacer un tour de 45 minutos, por los manglares (canal de chiquimulilla) Te darán información muy valiosa sobre la construcción del canal y como este ayuda al medio ambiente.
También a pocos pasos se encuentra la reserva de tortugas marinas. El costo de la entrada es de Q10 te darán un recorrido por el lugar y recibiras una charla sobre los esfuerzos que realizan para preservar la especie de la tortuga marina. Por Q10 adicionales podrás apadrinar una tortuga recién nacida y finalizara la actividad con la liberación de tortugas. Es una actividad muy gratificante.
Frente al tortugario también se encuentra la reserva de caimanes. Por Q10 participarás en tour guiado a través del lugar donde te mostrarán las diferentes especies de reptiles que tienen bajo protección y datos muy interesantes.
A unos cuántos previos al tortugario hay un restaurante muy limpio, ordenado y de buena temática donde sirven una pizza de camaron, atún y coco exquisita. También sirven platos y bebidas variados y a precios muy accesibles.
Todas las actividades anteriores ideal para hacer en familia, entre amigos, compañeros de trabajo o con esa persona muy especial.
