We stayed here for one night on a journey out to Utila. We arrived after dark and there wasn’t a lot around to do or eat within easy walking distance, but there is a grocery store one block away that has everything you’d need. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was absolutely amazing. We had the típico breakfast which was a great way to feel immediately like you’re in Honduras. Don’t get pancakes, come on! When we arrived at night we were greeted by a gentleman who spoke excellent English. The staff in the morning spoke Spanish only, but slowly and patiently. The room was pretty large and the common areas were very nice. Very helpful with everything we needed. The hotel felt very safe, although you might be best off taking a cab at night. Surrounding...
Read moreInconsistent prices and quality of room. You pay a lot more if you just walk in vs booking on a 3rd party site. I asked if they could give me a discount but they said no, and then later when I booked online for the next night they told me to make a reservation over the phone for my next visit and they'd give a discount. Very confusing and inconsistent! Also some rooms are very nice and others are quite plain, almost dreary. They are all very quiet and comfortable though. Again, inconsistent. We were made a breakfast, and it was terrible. Inedible... insulting really. I am excluding the breakfast from my 4 star rating because as long as you don't eat anything there and book online it is a good hotel, and the most quiet you'll find close to the...
Read moreSmall and friendly hotel, with a very home-like atmosphere. The rooms are basic, but very comfortable. I found this hotel to be quiet because of its location away from the center of town and up against private property. They will want to know what breakfast you would like and at what time. Breakfast is served in a small common area on the second floor. If you are late, they will call you to make sure you are not forgetting your order. Much of the staff speaks some level of English. Look for Raymond who will be watching over the front desk and street. He is a good resource for local information, the history of the area, a firm handshake and "buenos dias" to...
