6 years ago I happily watched the grand unveiling of the revitalized boardwalk and newly built pier (following the destruction of the original pier by Hurricane Mitch in 1998).

Today I visited once again, as I do every few months, only to see the further corrosion and decline of the area. Nothing is being maintained.

The signs are rusted. The paint on the family playgrounds are chipping. There's trash everywhere.

The new pier is collapsing at the end. Only 6 years old and support beams are giving out.

Such a sad state for an area that is so greatly appreciated by local families and small businesses. Still a nice place for a walk, but a shame it hasn't...

The only Pier to really go out on it's nice to walk out on but the government obviously doesn't keep it up-to-date it's pretty torn apart lots of homeless people around the area. People throw their trash in the ocean and around the pier there is not really any trash cans for people to throw their trash in. There is good fishing there but do not expect to be able to find any fishing tackle anywhere around. The people...

Used to be a real sight to watch. Local government left it to rot and the egde of the dock is starting to fall apart. The surrounding area is full of trash and there are hobos all over. This review was done on December 2021. I'll make a new review in 2022 to see if...
