Hotel Platanus — Hotel in Budapest

(+) We had flat wi-fi in our room, free of charge, every day, every time, and it worked just fine. Public parking just next to the hotel is free and our car was pretty safe there. Close to the metro station.||||(-) Ugly from the outside, ugly from the inside, this hotel looks like a spooky, old mental institution. Extremely noisy road in front of the hotel. Bad smells in the room and in the hall. Dirty carpets with stains. Old furniture and old elevator. Damaged bed linen, somebody's hair in the bed linen. Dirty toilet bowl, dirty and old shower and faucets, dirty walls. A/C didn't work at all so it was extremely hot in the room and we couldn't do anything about it. Blackout curtains weren't blackout at all, they were thin so we had a room full of light that woke us up early in the morning. We usually don't use hotel towels so I can't say anything about them. We didn't pay for breakfast, luckily, I'm afraid to think how does hotel's kitchen look like. ||||Above all, we paid in advance for queen size bed but we got two separated single beds. We complained to the receptionist but he couldn't offer us a room with queen size bed, and although we paid for it, we didn't get what we wanted. We didn't even get any discount due to poor service even though we asked for it; receptionists merely repeated that they were sorry and that's it. They were sorry, and who cares about our violated rights - that was extremely unprofessional and contrary to good business practices so we don't recommend this hotel to anyone because they don't respect their customer. Al igual que casi todos los viajeros que han escrito aquí su opinión, el hotel deja mucho que desear en cuanto a higiene.||Al destapar la cama no hacía falta mucha atención para darse cuenta que las sábanas estaban usadas y si no estaban sin cambiar es que estaban mal lavadas. ||La almohada y la funda olía a todo menos a detergente, pero como no había otra opción, dormí allí sin apenas moverme del asquillo que me daba.||No había más que ver el carro de las limpiadoras que no llevaban ni sábanas ni toallas, en fin.||Algunos amigos no me acaban de creer cuando lo cuento, pero gracias a las fotos que han colgado aquí algunos viajeros puedo demostrarlo, pero gracias a dios, mis sábanas no llegaban a ese nivel de suciedad que se observa en las fotos.||En la habitación de nuestros amigos había mocos pegados en la cortina de la ducha... Sin palabras. Cortina que cada vez que te rozaba te daba ganas de echar la papilla.||La calefacción bien, pero sin posibilidad de regularla||Bastante ruido desde la calle, por donde pasan tranvias, camiones, taxis... sin parar y a todas horas.||El desayuno, la verdad no era horrible, pero yo soy de buen comer y tiene que estar fatal para que no pruebe bocado. ||El Lobby Bar (que tiene cartel y todo, para aclarartelo) esta pegado a la recepción (merece la pena tomar algo en sólo por ver la barra, jaja!), se supone que hay zona de fumadores y no fumadores, pero sólo se diferencia porque hay cenicero ya que las mesas esta muy cerca.||A pesar de todo, reconozco que lo pasamos muy bien, porque en estos casos lo mejor es reirse y os puedo asegurar que casi nos da algo haciendo bromas con todo.||Lo que está claro es que no repetiría......

There were dead insects in the ceiling's lamp, dirty towels and ants as well in the room. Excessive heat and dirty sheets with cigarettes burns...no words. In some rooms the water came out from the washbasin brown. I came there for a school trip and I didn't expect so much filth in so many rooms, and the hotel itself warned for a lot of fines in case of damages, but it was already damaged by itself!
