Hotel Pangea — Hotel in Nyíregyházi járás

Been here for a couple of days with my family. |The hotel itself very modern with a lot of cool design solutions using and combining a lot of materials (e.g. wood and glass). The room was excellent big enough, very clean, modern. The bathroom is also excellent, top materials used with all the necessary stuff what you need. (Soap, cream, towels etc.)|The building equipped with a very silent elevator if you do not like the stairs, however worth to walk since the wooden statue goes from the bottom to the top and it’s really breathtaking. Cool pictures, photos everywhere. Perfectly combined access system tot he zoo, actually in 2 minutes you can be there right in the middle of the zoo. ||The staff is very kind and professional: looking for your wishes proactively trying to solve everything every time: it’s for the receptionist till the waiters. Special thanks for the head of restaurants talking a special attention on the kids & us. |The breakfast is top notch: excellent quality, perfect (real, not the general and usual hotel stuff) and also top quality espresso from the bar upon your request. A lot of different food everybody can find something whether you are vegan or a meat guy 🙂 Lot of bread types, upon your request even omelette can be made. ||Overall: 5 stars in terms of everything. I stayed in the hotel with my family ( all adults ) at the end of 2019 . I felt a bit disappointed after my stay . The hotel itself was impressive , but the staff and food JUST OKAY :-( . I have to add quickly that the receptionists were friendly and one of the waiters/bartender- they called him "Danika"- seemed like was working twice as much as the rest ! But unfortunately in the dining area , where the atmosphere was very flat anyway , some of the staff have got some attitude ! Really felt like they weren't there for us , did not seem as if they were enjoying their job . We found the dinner selection poor , not very innovative . Taste was good but very basic . Three types of cake but in 20 minutes one was eaten so we were only left with two . Very sweet and big old school style . Smaller portions would be better and than you could try all three and might even eat less than when you faced with only big thick slices. Breakfast was more impressive, I was almost happy but still a lot of issues . Scrambled egg was too runny , was not even cooked & then was cold within 5 minutes after the opening time ! The boiled egg the opposite, too hard , over cooked . I am a chef so trust me ! Oh ,and coffee machine wasn't a good one either . Simply say the hotel itself is more promising than the catering...

Went with wife 2 kids and a baby, no complaints about the bed, even had a crib for the baby. Minibar barely has anything, cannot regulate its temperature to make it a bit colder. My room had two toilets, one of them with a bath tub which was ok. The toilet without shower or bath tub had a very tiny sink, can barely fit my hands under the tap. Other than that the rest was ok. Service was perfect, very good staff. Restaurant could have a bigger variety of food but overall it was good. Behind the hotel there is a door which you open with your room card key and enter the zoo as many times as yoy want during your stay. Zoo was ok, nothing special, but the food stalls start closing much earlier than the zoo closing time.
