Usually I don’t write negatives in any google comments but I had to write to ensure everybody is aware. This trip was with my parents, and we didn’t have much option but to stay close to the airport due to our flight schedule. I had reserved two days prior through their membership page, with the additional request of adding one extra bed to the standard room. I didn’t get any heads up but a confirmation email. On the day of check in, the receptionist was sarcastic and rude, her attitude was absolutely not acceptable. Before she even checked the reservation email or ask for our passport, when I mentioned about the three beds, she said she couldn’t provide us with an extra bed (in the previous hotels, they all were flexible for three people) and when I asked if I could just pay and stay in the same room or get an extra room, she continued to say we couldn’t, and that the hotel was fully booked. I stood there with no alternatives and she mentioned either just two of us check in (so does she mean one of us go sleep at the airport?) or go to another hotel but she “wasn’t sure if there are any rooms left”.
She put zero effort to help us as I sat confused and worried trying to find another hotel. She and her male colleague were talking and laughing throughout my struggle to book a room on the day at 3 PM.
As I open the Google app, I realize that all other comments mention the same thing, the service of the receptionists is poor and minimum. I get that they will still have lots of customers due to their location (and so I have given them five stars for the location as this is only Ibis 5 mins away from the airport). I really hope they relook and reconsider their staffing. Shame..
———- as I cannot reply to your comment, I am adding here. I had booked the standard room with two twin beds thinking it was good enough for the two and had requested in the comments to provide one extra bed. The reason I usually do this is because many hotels don’t have rooms for three but they usually accommodate in a room with extra bed. Yes, a confirmation email reply or call would have been helpful.
When I appeared and the lady told me that she couldn’t add the bed, I then asked her if we could pay for the third person and just use the room, as I couldn’t go and find a different hotel myself and leave my parents. Any alternative plan could have been helpful, as we were already so tired and willing to stay in the hotel even if we paid extra and had to use the smaller room. But the attitude of the woman at the counter was what made me so angry, she didn’t try to help but said the rooms are fully booked and therefore we can’t use the room. I was totally thrown away to have her say that at the moment of the checking in. When I asked for any alternative, she said with a condescending tone to find another hotel. You mentioned that it’s my emotions and situation that may have made me feel that way but if you read many of the recent comments made, this problem is not solely mine. As I sat on the side lobby chair trying to find a new hotel and book a taxi as a tourist, she and the other clerk did nothing but chat and giggle. I do hope that you have a constructive conversation with your clerks and ensure that they provide the least needed for tourists/visitors of Budapest so they don’t ruin the good memories and experiences...

I am not against cheap hotels or saving but an expensive hotel and service cheap it should bring a big question mark for the future visitor.
1- personnel: very very young and not professional because in Ibis management they only want maximum profit. 2- The hotel from inside looks like a hospital, trying to maximize the rooms number and forget that the rooms are so small. 3-The decoration is smart made but very cheap for this price of a night. 4-The Room from inside doesn't have anything like a water cooker or anything at all, while showering the hot water starts to be cold after couple of minutes and the heating is not working well, because this management here designed everything to be cheap and they are looking in all directions to save any sort of cost.
5-Breakfast is very very cheap and sorted in a bad way, options are very very limited and the quality of the food is so cheap.
6-Drinks: during breakfast there are free drinks like water and tea, they have a very weird small machine which is very bad taste, I have never had so bad coffee in my life, it is really tastes bad and all other drinks ...etc
7-Restaurant/Bar: the restaurant which located at the same place like the breakfast location is very very expensive, unrealistically expensive and tastes not well.
I think it is enough writing about other reasons .....
My advice to the management, have a quality manager and invest some money for your place, you can't make such a profit and give the visitors almost nothing.
I am not going to come here again and if Ibis think because of location people will keep coming, you are mistaken I will take a taxi from the nearest hotel here.
I advice all people to think again and search for another near hotel.
Update: The Hotel Management responded to my comments, it is totally normal that they are trying to defend their business, let's leave the people decide who is...
Read moreOk - first the good. The hotel TRIBE side is brand new, open for 4 days. It’s a 5 min walk to the airport. The young man at the front desk was exceptionally helpful with the issues we faced.
The bad. First of all the food is pretty bad. In fact awful. Limited choice of 4 dishes. I had the burger which came with some god awful yellow cheese poured over the top. The fries were vegetable fries - why? No one wants a French fried carrot. To add insult to injury - the bill was almost $90. For 2 burgers and a beer. The bigger issue was the room. Although nicely appointed, due to other complaints about the rooms being “too cold” the hotel shut off the AC. When we tried to go to bed early for a 4 am wake up, it was 27.5C in the room. The young man at the front did everything imaginable to help, and after checking 3 other rooms, finally found one that was bearable. While a brand new hotel still needs to be shaken out, there are some glaring design flaws. The dining area is so bright it’s hurtful to look at. You’re eating - not doing surgery. The shower has a half glass wall - and a very energetic hand wand. It’s almost impossible not to leave a lot of water on the floor. Also, the rain head is set at about 5’11. If you’re 6 ft tall forget about using the rain head. My advise to mgt would be to fix the menu - it’s simply awful. Make sure the rooms are not 27 degrees so guests can sleep. Turn down the lighting so guests can enjoy dinner and not be blinded. As noted the young gentlemen who assisted was amazing. Kudos to staff - he was tireless in getting us settled in a new room.
If you’re getting a super early flight this is likely your best option - just beware what you are likely...
