I am very disappointed with my stay at the comfort Island. Staff were unprofessional, racist and insensitive. Firstly, the warm water stinks. So brushing teeth, having a shower and washing hands was unpleasant, however this I did not complain about. Radiators were broken yet this I made no complaints, simply changed rooms. When leaving, I told staff that I only have 5mins to leave for the airport (as breakfast started just as we were needed to leave) and will be taking my paid breakfast to go. This was refused because I didn’t tell them in advance. when trying to explain that I also was not told that I needed to give noticed to pick up a few croissants for the road, she kept questioning why I’m so ‘angry’. I had to explain that me questioning your service and policy in a clear and calm way doesn’t make me angry and it’s very insensitive to tell a brown woman they are ‘angry’ simply because you don’t agree with what you’re were saying. She decided to ignore me, walk away as if I didn’t exist and leave me talking to myself. Luce (the receptionist name) was also very happy for me to write this review while she reminded me that this is her country that I’ve come to and I need to accept the rules, even if that means I paid for a breakfast that I didn’t receive. A member of the kitchen staff (Michelle) then proceeded to make me a ham sandwich (I’m clearly muslim). I asked her to stop as this is not what I am able to eat nor is this the service I have paid for. My sister who was staying with us works for the Hiltons and understands the hospitality industry very well. Our custom was not appreciated, welcomed or cared for. Had I had blue eyes and blonde hair like Luce, Im sure I would not have been ‘angry’, left hungry or be writing this...

Read moreI'd like to premise this by saying I don't like writing bad reviews, and don't want this one to come across as terrible. More "needs work".
On the outside it looks like a fairly upmarket hotel, all the common areas are and stairwells are very nicely decorated and look very upmarket.
However that doesn't extend into the halls to the rooms or the rooms themselves.
The two single rooms I've stayed in have been very dated, small and needing some tlc. Carpets are fairly worn, and stained in places, with very dated styling. Maybe late 90's early 2000's?
The wallpaper needs redone as is peeling in places, and the tiling in the bathroom isn't the best. There's a small gap and line marks where the flush is for the toilet. The shower needs a good clean or re-pointed as it's pretty grotty between tiles and in the corners. The shower curtain in this room has been repaired with duct tape and a cable tie which looks terrible.
I often stay in hotels as part of my work, this one isn't as good as many of the other 3 stars I've been in.
Location wise it's right on the motorway, so isn't the quietest. But that doesn't really bother me. 30-45 mins from the airport, a few restaurants about so not the worst overall. Just not great.
The staff are lovely and have been nothing but professional and very helpful. 10/10 for the staff!
Beds are comfy and clean, has smart tv's in the rooms which is great. Not an all bad hotel, just needs some tlc.
Overall, for the price, I wouldn't choose to stay here again in one of the single rooms. Have stayed twice, both single rooms, both haven't been great with issues like above. Would consider trying one of the bigger rooms due to the other reviews I've seen, or if it gets a...
