My partner and I rented a campervan, and in Heimaey there's only two camping spots that popped up on my gps. I'm so glad we chose this one! It was situated in a beautiful area (like everywhere on Heimaey). We could see the ocean, the golf course, and a ridiculously tall mountain. There were walking paths to the town and towards other hiking that my partner and I explored after dinner. The facilities were top notch! The kitchen had everything we needed (3 burners, 2 sinks, coffee maker, electric kettle, all dishware, all cookware, and spices). It also had plenty of seating and along two of the walls were electric outlets so we could charge our devices while making dinner/breakfast. There are two bathrooms inside the building, one with a shower. Outside the facility were 2 more bathrooms that were always clean along with 3 more showers, though we didn't use them. It was a wonderful and quiet place to stay the evening, I...

We did not stay overnight here so I will not rate my experience based on that, however we were given permission to use their facilities to cook lunch. It was nice at first, clean and warm seating area/kitchen, however their electric cooktops do not heat up as much as needed and our food took a bit longer to cook. Obviously we don't want our lunch to take longer than usual, but some things cannot be helped. What I did not appreciate was the constant harrassment by the staff member (who gave us permission to cook there BTW!) to 'hurry up' when we had only stayed at most an hour and a half! Being asked questions that suggest we were trying to freeload or take advantage of the area (such as 'you aren't staying over night are you?' and 'why is it taking so long') after receiving explicit permission put a sour taste in my mouth....

Glamping & Camping is located on the Westman Islands of iceland, just on the edge ot the main town. You can camp but I choose one of the barrel type accommodations which feature a small porch, sitting area just inside the door and 2 twin beds plus a mini fridge. I recommend you purchase the optional linen package which includes a duvet. There are also A style cabins.||||Behind you rise some amazing mountains and in front of you just past the golf course is the Atlantic Ocean. The nearby main building provides a common area to prepare meals (if you wish) with plenty of dishes, stove, etc. The showers and washrooms are next door. The owner pops by every so often to register you in but if she is not there just give her a call.||||While a bit basic for something different you must try this if visiting the...

Great location, the cabins are nestled beneath a large mountain. It was quite the climb but was rewarded with excellent views. The check in process was not easy when you have an out of country phone with no service. We paid extra for linens, one of the bags they gave us smelled like used clothes, we swapped but was still a little nervous using them. There was a small blood stain on the wall beside the bed in the cabin. The floors were very dusty with a lot of hair. The fridge was unplugged when we arrived and was barely cold by the time we left the next day. It's fine if you're just there for the night on the island, but probably wouldn't stay again.

Most Amazing views, cute little cottages with heat and electricity situated in the middle of an extinct volcano, no wifi which is a pluss because you get to really enjoy talking to your spouse or partner and take in all the island has to offer. Our Bucket list has been checked. 😀 The restaurant that was recommended was wonderful and serves up the best #steak ive ever tried at a great price. 😉 I highly recommend this camp site for adventurous people who can live a few days without some comforts of home or hotel. A great experience that we will never forget and will definitely stay again.

Very nice location, good kitchen and nice rooms (e.g. the barrels). We stayed at one of the barrels. They are small, not isolated but sweet and they have a small heater and electricity. The hole place including bathrooms / restrooms is clean for camping standards. However the term "glamping" is a little bit over the top. There is no wifi and the kitchen and bathroom are only good camping standard but nothing special. There is no shop or other special things. It is a nice camping ground, thats all.
