Stole my credit card.
I'll start with the worst part first. I stayed here one night as part of a trip to the Taj Mahal, and got dinner at the hotel restaurant. After paying with my visa card I went to bed to get up early for sight seeing. In the morning I had received texts, emails, and voice-mails from my bank asking about suspicious looking charges. As it turns out, an employee at the hotel copied down my card number and information, and charged about $1,000 to it on video games and electronics before my bank shut the card down.
Clearly the identity theft was the worst part of the stay, but in addition a member of my traveling group got sick from eating dinner at the restaurant. Vomiting, diarrhea, the works. The food itself at the hotel restaurant was also pretty bad, even aside from the risk of getting sick. The dinners consisted of a main like chicken, kofta, etc, which then had some kind of gravy dumped on top that tasted like it was made from a pouch of dry mix or a can. The breakfast was equally awful.
Something else that seemed strange is that there were at lot of employees at the hotel, but no one seemed to be doing any work and were just milling around. The employees generally don't pay attention to you at the restaurant, at the desk, would leave dirty dishes in the hall from room service, and really didn't seem to care or do anything.
The toiletries seemed strange as well, some were unlabeled, I think the bottles were just refilled with whatever. The showers were very cold, even if you turn the hot water all the way up, the water is so cold my wife couldn't shower without shivering. Our room was fairly clean, but another member of our group had to be moved to another room because of a clear puddle of mystery sticky liquid in the first room. The beds were also pretty uncomfortable, felt more like sleeping on a folding cot than an actual bed.
The hotel didn't seem very secure either. The hallways were very dim, which was strange. They had a metal detector, but it's just sitting awkwardly in an open area in front of the entrance, you don't have to use it and the employees don't care if you do or not. There wasn't much security besides that. The gate was small, very close to the hotel, was up most of the time, and was surrounded immediately by squalor. I was in the room of another member of our group and looking out his window could see some kid pooping in a makeshift outhouse probably 10 ft from the hotel. I think there was a family living in a makeshift hut out of corrugated metal close enough to the room that I could have leaned out the window and had a conversation.
Overall, 1 star isn't a low enough rating given stealing my credit card and making someone sick. I very highly recommend you look elsewhere. If you're in a hotel Agra, you're probably looking to see the Taj Mahal. Spend a few extra dollars for your once in a lifetime trip and stay somewhere better. Seriously, don't cheap out and...

Despite security guards and coverage through cam, hotel and police is not willing to track the thief in night.Hotel Taj villas is one of the most renowned hotel in the city of Taj Mahal. Hotel security staff took around 2 hours to show cctv footage, that must have given ample time to thief to run away. This is a case of absolute negligence and misbehavior of hotel Taj Villas.
