Hotel Sutrupti, Best budget hotel in Bhubaneswar — Hotel in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

The hotel has another building after 3 blocks without a name plate or any description of the hotel. The receptionist at the 2nd building is hardly present, if present he is either snoring on the couch or intruding in your personal space. The cleaning staff never showed up in my 8 days of stay. No regular supply of basic needs like drinking water on time On asking to send the cleaning staff, the receptionist said they have a spare key and they will clean it. Since I am out the whole day, I requested them to clean in my presence for which he asked me to drop the key and go so they I'll clean. I told them I will be available from 12-4pm but he said that's their lunch time(4hrs lunch time?) One day, I observed that someone had come into my room in my absence. And it happened again two days later. On raising the issue with the main receptionist, I found out they were not aware that someone was entering the room in my absence. The reason the receptionist said was they wanted to check if the TV was functioning.

My concerns - The hotel has two buildings which are not mentioned on the internet. The receptionist at the 2nd building is unprofessional. Basic needs are not provided on time. Last and most devastating, the staff intruded into the room in spite of telling them to come in my presence, and this happened twice. The cleaning staff can't come in my presence but they can enter without informing me just to check the tv cable when I never complain about it?

This shows they have either taken the customers for granted or their intentions are not right.

Please keep my experience in mind before anyone books a room...

Merit- spacious room(diamond rooms), room service good. Plenty of water. 50 rs away from railway stn by auto. Had refrigerater, clean. Buffet of free breakfast(puri, dal, bread, butter, egg, tea) Demerit- no wi-fy, shouting of drunkers outside hotel room, AC temp controlled by them, u cant change. Hospitality not upto the mark. No laundry. Fish market near by so smell.......to get a city bus stop need to hire auto which take min 30 rs. Location is like a village.

Overall the auto rikshows r not comfortable. Done hv bearing. Jerk everytime even if a small pice of stone is there. If u travel upto nandankanan u will surely land up in back pain. Such a smooth straight road n vigorious amount of shaking...horrible. the auto with smallest size is better but...

The hotel is wonderful value for money - clean, sufficiently spacious if you just want a room for the nights. The best thing is the food. We really liked the prawn dopiaza and the fish masala. A generous quantity of prawns cooked in true Odisha style. Breakfast was delicious, did have less variety, but nothing to complain considering the price being paid. The best were the attendants in the restaurant. Our special thanks to Jitendra, Smriti Ranjan Mohanty, and Devraj. They did a wonderful job keeping us happy with the food. Getting us hot pooris from the Kadai, cooking dishes as per our taste, getting us chhena poda from outside although their stock was over, they did all with a smile. It was really nice...
