GAURAV GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in Bodhgaya

One of the best stays I ever had! I Never expected such a great place and hospitality in a city in Bihar (No Offense). The property is sits exactly opposite to 'Kagyu Monlam' (per Google Maps) or 'Karmappa Temple', as Locals knows it. A well built basic two story house with spacious and clean rooms with attached bathrooms and balcony. All the rooms are super clean and maintained with proper hygiene. The property is nearby to the major attraction in the town i.e. The Mahabodhi Temple and along with them you can visit to numerous other monestrys and temples built by groups from all Asian Countries like Bhutan, Thailand, China, Japan, Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh etc. Gaurav, who owns the place is a beginner in the market, but somehow he mastered the skill of winning hearts in such a short span. He goes beyond the line of duty to help with a basic necessities of his guests. Collectively, one can surely say that this place is well suited stay for a budget traveler who is looking for good service for affordable prices.

Pros - Amazing Host Clean and Hygienic Spacious Rooms Balconies in all the Rooms Properties Location (as proximity to the Main attractions of the town). You get Clean Bed Sheets and Blankets 24x7 Hot Water Supply. Bottled Mineral Water (Chargeable) is available on demand. Gaurav makes great coffee, so you can order that on your will.

Cons - The issue I faced during my stay is reaching the room. There are locals in Bodhgaya who very well know the 'Karmappa Temple', but if you are traveling from or to Gaya..you may have to struggle explaining the location to the people. As property stays at the out-skirts of the town, transportations and food services like nearby restaurants..are hard to get post 6-7 PM (though one can surely use Zomato (online food delivery) which will get the food delivered to room). You won't get toiletries along with room. A basic toilet soap will be provided. For me, the wifi didn't...

I had exceptionally good luck finding Gaurav Guest House--little more than a google search on my bus ride from Varanasi to Bodhgaya led me to this place but I am grateful all the same. The room rates, including for a/c rooms are very competitive. The location, tucked just about 750 meters or so from the center of Bodh Gaya is excellent. There is very easy access to the Mahabodhi Temple on foot or, if you prefer, by tuktuk, but it is removed enough from the often very lively and noisy central business area to allow for a peaceful stay. Most important, Gaurav and the staff will make sure you are looked after; they will help you with travel arrangements or any other issues or problems, and, in my case, I was even invited to have dinner with him and his family, which was wonderful and generous and of course didn't cost a nickel. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when I return...

After finishing 20days Vipassana, I felt so blessed to find this place to stay for few days 💝🙏🙏🙏. It’s near Tergar Monastery away from the bustle but still very close to Maha Bodhi Temple. So peaceful, green, also often stayed by Tibetan monks and nuns, that just added extra beauty for me. The place is very clean and the 2 brothers who run the place; Godson and Guarav are blessed with beautiful karma! They were so helpful and caring, from ordering food, visiting sacred places, transport, shopping and all sorts of activities that made it so much more pain free and enjoyable. We became great friends and shared lots of laughs and warmth. So grateful to have met the women in their family as well, who invited me in their home and I got to hang out and cook with them! 💗🙏💗 it’s definitely a gem💎, I would highly recommend and will stay again.
