Hotel Ocean Inn — Hotel in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu

Ocean Inn is my most favorite property in daman. Few of the most important categories in which they are superiors are the clean spacious rooms they got then such a courteous staff who always helps us and last but not the least food and beverages they have to offer you. These three criteria/s are most important when you are looking to spend your time in the hotel. Rooms has all required amenities so you can have your own leisure time. ||Food and beverage section is managed so well with really a good dishes coming on to you table along with excellent range of mocktails and cocktails. Staff of the hotel is really good. Such a wow experience they gave from starting my parking my car when I came till I checked out. I strongly recommend this hotel if you are in Daman or planning to come. ||||Location- Certainly can say at the best location of Daman, bang on the devka beach, just few steps away from the famous garden of devka beach. Hotel is sea touch and many of the rooms got the beach view. They got ample amount of parking space for the cars or even buses. ||||Theme- This is the only hotel in daman I felt which gives rooms to only family or couples and not to stags. So yes, family hotel giving a luxurious stay. ||||Check in – Such a grand welcome they did, carried our baggage till reception by one of the staff. The check inn process was really simple and quick. Staff at the reception was really kind enough. Gave us a welcome drink which we were really wanted after a drive of 3 hours. All of our baggage was taken to the room by the staff. ||||Lobby – they got a atrium lobby. Such a premium view you get once you walk few steps ahead of reception. They got couches where you can wait, have a relaxing time. Atrium lobby is basically Ancient Roman architecture, where you can see all the room doors from the lobby. They got such a wonderful chandelier which looks absolute class. ||||Rooms – They got two floors and my room was on second floor but best part is they got lift for you. Hotel was kind enough as they gave use the sea view room. The room was extremely spacious, got a fresh positive vibe once we entered. The view is breath-taking, got Arabic ocean right in front of your eyes. I am sure many can relax on the couch there and have a nice coffee or a chilled beer. Bed is good in size with fresh bedsheets, duet, pillows. Room has all necessary amenities like LED TV, Working table, Water Warmer kettle for tea/Coffee, Couches etc. ||||Bathroom is done so well and has all the required toiletries. Cleaning was just way too amazing, felt like the room is newly done. Room has telephone from where you can order your food and beverages if you want to rest and have relaxing time along with food. Room service guys are super quick and yes just a call away to help you. View of the room won my heart; you can spend hours sitting on that couch and look outside.||||Food and Beverage- Let me be honest and tell you that Mr. Raju who wad the restaurant manager of the hotel was extremely welcoming and perfect person in hospitality field. He was more than happy to serve us, explain the dishes/drinks, recommend us. They got a big restaurant which is open and some part of it has AC section. We opted to seat in the open area enjoying chilling breeze and listening to waves of the ocean. The food menu has everything you would like to have, especially Chinese and Indian. I am sure you wont be confused what to order and what not to. ||||When we are in daman, drinks plays a vital role in the tourism of them. I was happy to see so many cocktails in the menu. I wish people try more and more cocktails here, as I understood many are happy having straight drinks as they don’t want to go out of their comfort zone. The cocktails which were made were too good and loved the creativity bartender has come up with. Each cocktail was separate from the other one. I was highly impressed with Food and Beverages they served. Few of the cocktails and dishes we tried are mentioned below. ||||LIIT (Cocktail) - Classic LIIt made with coke and five white spirits and then shaken well with ice, lemon juice. It was served in a tall glass along with few lemon slices. ||||Margarita- A superb Vodka based b=margarita was perfect and a refreshing drink. ||Chicken Peri Peri- Chicken chunks marinated in peri peri seasoning and then cooked in tandoor. What I loved here was the amount of butter they used while cooking, so I can say it was soothing coz of butter but tangy/spicy coz of the peri peri, a must try dish, strongly recommended. ||||Dara Hariyali tikka- Dara is the most local fish you get in daman. We requested that we want to try this fish so the hotel took the effort to bring that fish and cooked it for my dinner. It was marinated in green masala and then cooked further. Loved the efforts taken to satisfy the guest. ||||Pomfret Tawa Fry- Whole Pomfret Silted and filled with masala and then it was pan fried. This dish is for sure a repeat order if you can finish it. Good size pomfret cooked to the perfection. Initially it looked more reddish than expected but then for taste it was so well done. ||||The room booking has breakfast included in it so in morning they set up the breakfast buffet in the restaurant. Breakfast was really lavish and had lot many options you can try. It started with tea/coffee, bread toast, idli, sabudana vada, khaman, aloo paratha with dahi and pickle, fresh fruit juices, bread & butter, slice cake etc. they had two live counters, one of it was of south Indian breakfast like dosa , uttappa and other one was of eggs in which you can give them order for egg preparations like omelette, fried eggs, boiled eggs etc.||||Staff/Service - Staff of the hotel is really good. I booked Super delux room with break-fast in this hotel online for one day on 16th Jan 18 and stayed with my wife. The hotel has 25 rooms and is about 50 % cheaper than exact beach facing other hotels on Devka Beach. Devka beach is just a walk away but it can be seen from the rooms of 1st and 2nd floor. It has ample lobby space with sofas on 1st and 2nd floor. They have a spacious restaurant at ground floor and they serve liquor too, both in room and restaurant. There is Pool table at chargeable basis if you want to refresh. I found staff and service acceptable. The room was well lit, clean and had a bathtub. For morning break-fast I requested them to make Puri Bhaji and they made it along with Aloo Poha, bread butter, tea/coffee. They offered me 20 % discount on food and drink. The watchman cleaned my car complimentarily and even didn’t ask for money. However, I tipped him well later. They have car parking of about 8 cars in front of the hotel on the roadside. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend the hotels to fellow travellers. Check photos of the property posted by me to get a feel of the hotel. Specially abled and old people may have issues.||2.      Road side rooms have giant sliding windows without grills. Ocean Inn hotel is bank opposite devka beach and we get nice sea view from their executive rooms. We had been here on the Diwali weekend and the whole place was full due to on season. We can see the beautiful promenade too from the windows. We has booked 3 executive sea facing rooms for a total of 7 guests. The hotel is good and rooms are spacious, however few things the management should address is cleanliness, we reached late though the rooms were said to be ready there was sand at many areas, had to call housekeeping to get it cleaned. The next thing is the lift, dosent seem to be maintained, it stopped working and never started until we were at the property, imagine how difficult it can be for senior citizens. Swimming pool is certainly missing, which would have been such great fun. The restaurant ambience is superb and it is also sea facing. Food is quality and taste is also very good, the breakfast spread was good enough and all the items were well made. Wifi was sporadically working, so we used our mobile data only. Overall an ok place to stay, if management addresses these small issues should be fun...
