Visited here with my family and my mother-in-law, a senior citizen. We had two rooms and initially the rooms were good... great AC. We checked in at around 15:10 when the restaurant had just closed, the room service still obliged to give us lunch. We ordered a chicken biryani. Was very fresh and tasted great. There was a biryani promo going on .... so we assumed that it was a speciality. It did seem like there was a lot of 'preservative' as all of us had a partial indigestion.
Later in the evening we opted for the dinner buffet..... nice veg. spread, very little non veg. Cold soup which the steward offered to heat for us, Curried fish with bone, skin on..... and tandoor chicken..... the tandoor chicken was PARTIALLY COOKED AND IN SOME CASES WAS RAW (RED FLESHY) MEAT WITH PARTIALLY COOKED INSIDE. On seeing this my wife opted to not to eat, both my children stopped midway, and moved to ice-cream , because it would surely not be made there. The steward checked it out and then offered to replace it, ..... the chef met me and apologised and then remade a fresh portion which was quite good.
The most unusual event that happened when my children(daughters) went bach to their room..... the room service staffer using the masterkey opened the door and almost entered.... twice in the span of 5 minutes. Only to run away when my elder daughter screamed and dashed for the foor. He ran away .... but that is not something that is acceptable in any room of any hotel. We went to the lobby and complained to the reception who called the on duty manager. On questioning by the manager the staffer who had the only masterkey.... he refused to accept that he had done it. But when threatned that the guest would call the police and demand video footage he accepted and said that it was a mistake. Entering a room at 10pm without knocking or ringing a bell !!!!
The manager assured us that he would get us a change of rooms, to adjacent rooms and ensure that the staffer would not be on duty till the end of our 3 day stay.
The next morning we went to out children's room and asked room service to get us some tea bags etc..... the same intruding staffer came with the stuff and on seeing us said that he thought he would apologise....!!!!! What we were told that he would be sent off and here he enters again. TRUELY DISAPPOINTING CASA TESORO AND STERLING RESORTS.
We were moved to adjacent rooms on a different floor. However it was a very musty room..... had termite trails etc.
We did have breakfast there. Was reasonable.
The pool outside was small and the water was a little hazzy.... not too clean as compared to the earlier sterling resorts. Housekeeping did not happen the next day.... but had to be called for.
The manager still charged us for the buffet dinners in full and gave a 10% off .....due to the complaint.
Overall Other staff was quite good and helpful.
This experience is definitely Not in the top 10 of our hotel experiences. Many other guest had complaints on rooms being leaky, noisy nights etc.
RCI AND STERLING NEED TO PULL UP THEIR SOCKS UP...
Read moreBeen here recently jan 2025 I booked through agoda app I paid 3k for a night so I had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights costing around 12.2k. so during the Booking i saw the pictures of the property which were posted on the agoda app so I found it was quite good rooms looked cleaned and even the property looked nice. Now on the day of check in I travelled for 6 hours and I reached the property around 2.30pm so first impression when I reached the location the lobby didn't looked the way they showed in the app still I ignored it so I went to the receptionist and asked for room keys she did all the formalities and gave the keys along with 1 guy who was there to guide us to the rooms I asked for trolley to keep the bags which they didn't had so I just carried my stuff to the elevator and to the rooms now to my horror the moment we entered the room it smelled so horrible still we kept our calm thinking we will tell this to the receptionist and maybe change the rooms let's first keep our bag so we took both rooms keys and went in our rooms we opened the bathroom door and there the smell was even more horrible, rooms were not at all clean. There were ciggerate buds lying round the corner of the rooms and all dust and ciggerate buds just swept and kept under the table hidden, our balcony which has the view of amazing road and our neighbours house the windows lock was broken and the window itself was so dirty to event touch it. The bed room ac was not working you can literally see black dirt piled up on the ac I have attached photos as well for the reference. And for my 2nd room same condition there the switch board was not working neither the exhaust fan. So I called you the receptionist and told her how can this be the situation when we paid so much amount for 1 room atleast you can have a decency to keep the rooms clean. To which she said this are our best room we have suite after the package if you want we can upgrade you for that if you are willing to pay extra money. Now after all this situation I just wanted to cancel my Booking and go somewhere else. Hotel staff said we can't do anything you call agoda they can help you we don't do cancellation. Now I called agoda it took me 3 hours on call with agoda customer support to do the full refund initially they were refusing to do the refund but we did lot of heated arguments and I sent them the email about the actual property after which they agreed and finally did my complete refund but it took my 3 hours of fighting. Finally around 6pm we checked out of this property. And found a good hotel with a cheaper rates and extremely good condition.
So all in all guys don't book this property just by looking at the photos do your research not just for this hotel but any hotels in future and specially if you are travelling with you family.
Adding few pictures of the...
Read moreHotel Presidency Landmark happened to be one of the recommendations by Booking.com. My experience with Booking. com has always been congenial. However, this time I am startled that a tourist place like Daman can have a hotel which doesn't keep up it's property. Meaning, I got a room without a toilet seat cover and had to wait for more than two hours to get the seat cover commissioned. A.C in the room didn't work (and they didn't know about this). The booking.com while reserving the room had stated that property will provide complimentary tea and coffee in the room while my room didn't have. I had to wait till night to get it.
Okay, lemme not sound bickerish but major setback of the hotel is it's service (despite being a hospitality industry). The service is completely dysfunctional, lackadaisical and half-hearted.
I was informed that the facility is trying to revive from the covid slump, which I get it. What I don't get is how can the manager not know what's dysfunctional and what needs to be repaired or serviced. For long I felt I was the only one who felt this about the hotel but faux pas of handing keys of my room to another tourist was epic. The other tourist expressed the same about the hotel. Yet, we were here to 'enjoy' our holidays. Oh, also, their breakfast menu is pretty much the same everyday.
Definitely, not worth for the money. I visited during the long weekend of Good Friday so rates where high already. Interestingly, booking.com showed the price of the same hotel for 16th April as ₹ 5500/- and the hotel is no where near it. It displays 'Times Award for the best budget hotel' and I doubt this. I mean, is 'Times' that stupid to see this when I as a visitor can. Budget hotels are actually pro in their service which they have a long way to go.
Okay, the good part is staff is courteous and is willing to provide 'experience' that can promise visit again but when a hotel needs a revamp in the hardware components and needs adequate resources to cater to the demands of holiday seasons being courteous won't suffice for...
