One of the worst experiences after following google reviews!! I read all the reviews and was so impressed that we planned to have lunch there today. After reaching, we had a series of disappointments: First thing is parking: There was a google response from the owner that they have a parking lot next door but the next building is an under construction one. And what is the point of having a parking space if your employees cannot guide your customer to it or there are no signs explaining the direction. Second thing: People serving there had no interest in customers. There were 2 3 guys but all vanished as soon as we entered the restaurant. Only one was sitting at the reception and was extremely busy with his phone call the whole time. Third thing: Food was edible. That is all i can say about it. We ordered Peri peri fries: It was freshly fried and Crispy. Tawa Fried pomfret in Red Masala: The fish was stale. Quite old actually even after frying it was prominent in the taste. And there was absolutely no masala or salt soaked inside the fish. It was absolutely bland. Goan Prawn Curry with Steamed Rice: The prawn curry was a coconut gravy with tamarind in it which made it quite sour. It was some kind of coconut gravy but not Goan curry for sure. It kind of ruined our vacation lunch joy. Would be a definite no no from my side. Rather spend your money at some other place where you can...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Fish and Barrel Restaurant, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Not only is this place known for its delicious food, but it also offers rooms at very affordable prices – a rare and welcome combination!
The food was absolutely remarkable. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Their seafood, in particular, stood out with its rich taste and perfect seasoning. The menu offers a great variety, catering to different tastes, and everything we ordered exceeded expectations.
What truly adds to the charm of Fish and Barrel is its accommodation. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained. Despite being reasonably priced, they don’t compromise on comfort. It’s a perfect spot if you're traveling or looking for a peaceful weekend getaway without burning a hole in your pocket.
The staff was polite, attentive, and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. The overall ambiance of the place is warm and inviting – ideal for both casual dining and overnight stays.

Read moreWe recently visited Fish & Barrel Restaurant in Daman, and although it took us a while to find the place due to ongoing road work in the Daman Market area, it was absolutely worth the effort!
The moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the courteous staff, who took the time to suggest their best dishes. Being seafood lovers, we were especially impressed when the manager personally brought out the fresh fish to show us its size and quality. We tried Dara fish for the first time, one of their specialties and it was truly exceptional! Cooked to perfection, it had a delicious, homely flavor that really stood out.
My daughter, who isn’t a fan of seafood, ordered Chinese fried rice and crispy chicken, and even those dishes were spot on flavorful, well-balanced, and not at all oily or salty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and left with happy hearts and full stomachs. I highly recommend Fish & Barrel to all seafood lovers visiting Daman. I do hope the road construction is completed soon so more people can easily access and enjoy this hidden gem...
