Hotel Aura Paharganj — Hotel in Delhi

We booked their most expensive room, the Aura Suite with a Private Jacuzzi, even though it did not meet our expectations. Firstly, their advertisement is misleading across all platforms. Here are the details to inform you:||On Booking.com, they claim to offer a free airport shuttle, but they charge 1100 INR for each side. If you choose to book Ola/Uber, the cost is 600-700 INR.||The locality is very poor and unhygienic. There is no cleanliness in the vicinity of the hotel. It is situated on a cramped road, and ordering a taxi can take more than 20 minutes.||Before making the booking, I called them to discuss a late check-out (for two hours) due to my late flight. They assured me that a check-out at 2 PM would be fine without any additional cost. However, upon reaching the hotel, they denied the phone conversation and insisted on charging half a day's hotel cost for a late check-out.||The room was not clean. Dust and hair were visible under the blanket. The bed linen was also not clean. Immediately upon check-in, we had to request vacuum cleaning for the room.||There is no coffee machine in the room. Instead, there was a dirty kettle. The mini-bar was empty.||We had to contact the reception to have the TV turned on. The room service came and changed the cable box to enable us to watch TV.||There was no Hairdryer, Bathrobe, Bath Slippers, Complimentary Bottled Water, or Complimentary Breakfast (which they had advertised as included in the Aura Suite with Private Jacuzzi room).||Hot water was not available at all times, and the shower was broken. Water would come for a minute and then the knob had to be pulled again to continue.||Apologies for the disappointment, but there is no separate Jacuzzi. They have replaced the bathtub with the Jacuzzi, which was old and functioning solely as a bathtub, not a Jacuzzi. The small TV above the Jacuzzi was also not functional. So, essentially, the so-called Jacuzzi was just a bathtub in the bathroom, not a Jacuzzi in the room.||The internet connection was very slow.||We ordered food in our room, and they were initially charging more than the menu price. After my objection, they adjusted the price to match the menu. The food was both expensive and of poor quality. If you venture outside the hotel, there are many shops and dhabas where you can find better food.||The room did not resemble the advertised images on the internet. The sky lantern in the room was non-functional, and there were no night lamps as depicted in the photos.||Parking is at your own risk. There is no luggage storage room. If you wish to store your luggage, it will be placed in the passage.||There are no gym facilities, no massage services, no spa, and no steam or sauna bath available.||Furthermore, there is no rooftop bar and no restaurant within...

WORST EXPERIENCE

(1) As per the policy, I booked and paid in advance. Yet, I called the property in advance before my arrival, they said that rooms are available. When we reached at the destination (time which I mentioned online), the rooms were not available. After 4 hours of waiting, we were allotted the rooms.

(2) There WiFi facility was not at all working. The Hotel staff said it was under maintenance on Day 1 but during all 4 days, it remained under maintenance only. Zero Wifi Facility. Fortunately, I had alternate options with me. Using that, I replied to some important mails.

(3) To get hot water, one had to inform the Hotel staff to switch on the geyser and then after 30 minutes, one will get hot water. Strange!

(4) The Hotel staff is not at all cooperative.

(5) The Hotel charges for so much for the sight seeing. Almost double than the normal rate. Especially, I suggest the foreigners (not residing in India) to search outside for better option.

(6) The room facilities were not provided sufficiently (those described in the website).

(7) The door locks were not working properly. Each day in both the rooms we had to complain regarding the door locks. A big issue regarding the security!!!!

(8) The Hotel did not give me the receipt of the payment. The staff said it is responsibility of Agoda. Strange.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I travel frequently but never received such response from any property.

(9) The list is too long....

That's why I suggest anyone to stay in some other property rather...

Had 24 hours to stay in Delhi, chose this one based on reviews. I must say that reviews do fool you sometimes or are people too generous??

Best things first, I got the premium room, it was good and mostly clean. However the window overlooking the road was dirty inside and outside. The curtain also was dusty.

Complimentary Coffee and tea placed in the room was not of a good quality.

Regarding the bathroom, I think the bath tub can also have a curtain so as not to let the water out while taking a shower.

Room service was good, ordered dinner came fast and was good but overpriced. They dont have a restaurant but they own one near buy, so either you have to leave hotel premises and enter the polluted street or have it in your room.

What was most dissapointing was the complimentary breakfast on the 4th floor. The moment you enter that space, you hear loud punjabi music. Who wants that for breakfast? Also the breakfast food was bad and tasteless. Would prefer to have fresh orange juice rather than sugary branded juice from a cartan. And wouldn't it be cheap for the hotel as well?

So basically when you pay for the expensive dinner, its good but whatever is free can be ignored.

Also the guys serving the breakfast were very unprofessional, I was not allowed to take the coffee with me in the room to escape the loud music.Well the good thing was that I did not have to as it was disgusting.

Overpriced. Might want to try Godwin and Ginger first...
