I had the misfortune of dealing with the staff at Country Inn Hotel Sahibabad and it was an utterly pathetic experience from start to finish.

Initially, I was quoted a rate for a group party by a staff member named Gopal. However, when I called back a few minutes later to confirm, they conveniently "went back" on the agreed-upon rate and offered me a higher package instead. Not only was this unprofessional, but it also reeked of dishonesty.

To make matters worse, Gopal's attitude was nothing short of appalling. He was not only unapologetic but also rude, insulting, and even went as far as to scream at my mother. It's truly disheartening to encounter such behavior in the hospitality industry.

When I requested to speak to a senior staff member to address the issue, I was met with even more hostility from someone named Varun. Instead of acknowledging their mistake, Varun proceeded to shift the blame onto their senior management, claiming that they had suddenly changed the rates. It was evident that they were more interested in saving face than providing satisfactory customer service.

Adding insult to injury, Varun shamelessly attempted to divert our booking to nearbuy. This is both unethical and disappointing.

In an attempt to voice the grievances, my sister left a review on Google detailing the experience. However, Varun's response was nothing short of disgraceful. Instead of offering a resolution, he chose to be argumentative and even went as far as pressuring us to remove the review altogether.

We had booked rooms for my own reception that was happening across the hotel. The bride, my wife needed makeup done. The staff was extremely rude and authoritative right from the start of check in and when the make up artist arrived, the staff reprimanded my wife and her sister for requesting that she (makeup artist) be permitted to go to her room. After a good 15 minutes when she was on the verge of crying, the manager said you can use the in house salon. The icing on the cake was when I called the front desk, their staff decided to hang up my call. I pay you 1L to book rooms and you don’t even have the decency to talk to me and hear my concern? They also ask you to pay a 3000 refundable deposit like what?? And then during check out you’ll have to wait till they take their sweet time to issue the refund, which, they do not refund immediately (card transactions are instantly reversible) however they keep your amount for a week, earning from there as well. What was equally shocking was that anyone can dress up, walk into the property, walk to the lift press any floor and reach the rooms’ floor. Pressing the floor inside the lift is not access key controlled. This is security?? About 10 years ago we celebrated my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary there and it was wonderful. However between then and now while the property remains beautiful, the management has become absolute hell for guests. I announced on stage on my reception what happened with me so that 500 of my guests could decide for themselves whether or not to choose Country Inn.
