This is located by far on the best location of Benaulim offering fantastic views of the ocean, sunset, and a lengthy stretch of white sandy beach. ||||First look at the huts and you will fall in love with it. It is neatly maintained, has amazing views, and provides decent accommodation (if you are a lone traveler or with wife/girlfriend but not with kids or family). ||||However, once you meet the staff, the things start to go the other direction:||||1) Staff have zero courtesy||2) Absolutely no manners whatsoever as to how to speak to their customers (perhaps owing to no training etc.)||3) Room was not allotted on scheduled check-in time - however, not even a single sorry from the lady who was managing the booking||4) Rude tone and body language of almost all staff that I tried to make conversation with||5) In general, "I don't give a ** attitude" towards all||||Now get to food & dine:||1) Pizza (priced in excess of Rs. 400) had neither the taste or toppings but the least it was quite literally "Palm" sized. Yes, smaller than the Pizzahut's Personal Pan (sold at Rs.99 by Pizzahut by the way)||2) Every single item on the menu is priced more than the Club Mahindra's menu (trust me - I am a CM Purple member). For example, any decent vegetarian side dish is priced between Rs. 500-600. The simple dal tadka is Rs. 390, single butter roti is Rs. 130, garlic nan is Rs. 200 each. You can imagine how this place tries to rip the customers off. Okay, you might think what's wrong if they are a bit expensive. Yes, I also thought the same and went ahead and ordered but the serving, even after priced this high, is not even enough for a single person!||||KIDS FRIENDLY? - NO, staff explicitly allow all smokers to smoke anywhere in the restaurant, near your hut, or anywhere within the property with absolutely no regard for small children. IN fact, the restaurant served HOOKA to a table right next to me where my 5-year old son was dining!!!||||Overall, except for the location advantage (only for indoor staying guests), there is not a single thing that one would enjoy here. The nearest shop is a km away and a nearest another restaurant is more than a km away. So, you better come prepared as there is not much to explore, no food & dine options nearby, nothing in terms of positive vibe (usually you get from Palolem), or the least - DECENT STAFF. Nothing here. My...
Read moreLovely location at the quieter far end of Benaulim beach - and the staff are lovely. I did enquire about their wooden hut accommodation but it was Rs2,600 per night with no AC - so extremely overpriced.
I sat on their sunbeds for 3 afternoons - simply ordering a beer the first 2 days (I broke my glass on the 2nd visit which they refused to take financial compensation for 😊) &, feeling rather guilty about that, opted to dine there after my sunbathing/swimming session on the 3rd visit.
I chose prawn & crab salad (Rs600) but upon examining the fish content - consisting of tiny chopped-up pieces of prawn with no evidence of any crabmeat, all of which was mixed in amongst the big salad content. I deliberately picked out & put to one side of the plate the fish tidbits to ascertain just how much it contained & there was there was barely any in it ..not even a square inch. I thus complained asking for more to be added as 600/- for a salad was ridiculous - but was refused. So I sent it back (not having eaten any) and ordered Prawns in butter/garlic sauce instead. 6 large prawns were in this dish - along with a tiny portion of salad & a few French fries (450/-) but the prawns were very soggy - either not fresh or overcooked - and the heavy sauce drenched everything (I'd thought they'd simply be tossed in the butter/garlic while being lightly pan fried - my favourite dish for many years in Goa ..cooked properly) - so I left lots of it and won't...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 days, we booked two huts. The prices of the huts were different for different months, for long weekend they charged 2800 per hut which i think was too much for the room we got.
Pros: Location Benaulim beach is at walking distance Restaurant nearby The food tasted good specially Tandoor items. Tandoori roti and fish were good.
Cons: The beach is not that clean but you can enjoy it early in the morning during low tide
The rooms are not at all maintained. There were termites all over the hut which they tried to cover with curtains. The room is also very small. They didn’t clean it properly, the mats were very dirty and the floor had sand all over it. The washroom was fine but seeing termites all over made me very uneasy.
The blue corner restaurant is very costly. I ordered chef’s special Tandoori fish, I chose Pomfret which costed me 1200 which is very costly. I saw that local Goan restaurants were giving fish thali for just 200. Even in Bangalore I get Pomfret for 300. I also had sesame praws which we got after 1 hour of placing the order. It costed around 500 and was very sweet, I didn’t like it.
Overall i felt we spent a lot of money but didn’t get that kind of service. For the same price you can get a better stay.
The car rental person contact which they gave (Mario) also tried to scam us saying that we scratched his car but we had photos. He came at the last minute when we had our train and...
