I had my wedding at the Hotel Goan Heritage after the new year. I’m going to highlight some positives and negatives (which was the majority of my experience).
Pros: The resort location is in a very decent location. Very walkable to the main road and shops down Holiday Street, and had direct access to the beach.
Resort itself is aesthetically nice, due to the Portuguese architecture and style. Many photos turned out quite nice.
Food is very good. All meals are made on premises and served fresh
Cons: Management did not treat us well at all. Alfred, the director, constantly badgered us about fees and expenses, instead of leaving it til check out to be settled. My father (upon arriving at the resort) was not allowed to eat dinner until he settled some things with Alfred. On our wedding night, one of the associates spoke to my father openly in front of other guests about additional food and room expenses that needed to be settled. These events were very upsetting and quite frankly put a bad taste in my mouth on the night of our wedding.
Due to us coming from outside of India, I believe that Alfred did not put certain clauses and conditions in our contract, in order to get the most amount of money from us.
Some of the staff was not very accommodating. One of my wedding guests had dirty sheets with haldi/mehndi stains from a previous wedding and the staff said they don’t have any clean sheets to replace it with. They also refused to bring clean towels to one of my guests, and gave him attitude upon delivery to their room.
The communication via email with the bookings was also very poor. There was much time delay in between responses, which led to issues in people needing to cancel their rooms or plan their travel accordingly. One guest had sent multiple emails to the booking office, to no response. This issue was later brought to the attention of my father, even though this issue was settled previously by the guest. Poor communication and professionalism in front of other guests.
The incompetency of some of the event staff was quite shocking. During our wedding ceremony, the person responsible for the sound was constantly on his phone and did not seem to care that the music kept pausing in and out. This disrupted the flow of the event.
Overall, I believe the resort is a decent venue and good location in North Goa. However, it desperately needs a change in staff and leadership. The way we were treated in some situations and how issues were handled with my father involving are not standard practice with the hospitality industry, and in honestly, quite saddening as we were there to celebrate mine and my wife’s special day. We will not be returning here again, and I caution people in holding their weddings at...

I am well acquainted with Goa as I go often. This time I went on a friends trip and Goan Heritage was our choice to stay. It was the WORST experience ever.
First, the rooms and resort was absolutely DISGUSTING. The rooms had dead bugs in the bathroom and stained sheets. Stains that seemed to be from previous guest and clearly not washed or changed. The public area of the resort was ok except the pool. I brought to the staffs attention that there was black mold growing on the sides and bottom and the staff brought a rag to me and asked me to clean in. It was disrespectful. Also the locks on the door are physical key locks. They only have one key for each room. When asked for a spare for my friend who was sharing the room with me they instructed me to go to a locksmith and get a duplicate made. That is extremely unsafe that they encourage duplicates of keys to be made.
Second the resort's staff and service was terrible. They charge for everything even if it supposed to be included in the stay. I requested clean sheets and towels to my room and when the staff came he asked for payment. When I disputed this, the manager Alfred came to me many times during my stay and demanded payment. After feeling unsafe with these approaches and demanding payment I paid. I cannot dispute on my credit card because they demanded cash payments.
Third the food was poorly made and not made with clean ingredients. At dinner one night there was hair found in my food. When brought to waiters attention he took the plate and never returned with an alternate meal. I again brought to the staffs attention that this situation had happened and they brought me a new meal and charged me for both meals still.
Goan Heritage is a TERRIBLE venue and definitely needs to be investigated. All my friends got some type of illness while staying there, the staff is strange, and they only care about money. The location was also not as described on the website. They state that it is on the beach however, it is not and the walk to get to the beach is NASTY. If you are looking for a place to stay in Goa or have a wedding do NOT stay at Goan Heritage unless you want to get sick and be traumatized from your vacation. I hope this place gets shut down. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it makes you appreciate people who are kind and places with good service because Goan Heritage is the WORST. Alfred is truly a...

This is my first review ever on any platform... And unfortunately a negative one. We had been to goan heritage around 15 years back, which was a great place to stay then, mainly due to its location and service. We had left with great memories. When you visit the same hotel after few years, you expect it to live upto the same standard. Unfortunately, only the location remains as the good thing... Not Great... Because access to beach from hotel closes at 7pm.
What's more wrong with the hotel you ask? Here it is... The first impression is.. Everything is way dated... I mean I would love to reexperience the magic.... But can you not refresh the decor... Furniture... Curtains in 15 years...???? 2.They have a pool... But NO POOL TOWELS!! you are expected to take them from the room.... Fine... I will come back to the room and take them... Little inconvenience... But I can live with it!! But then, when you come back to room and ask for a fresh.. Dry towel... They say NO!!! only allowed limit for towels per room per day is 3 (where originally they gave you only 2 towels for the room booked for 3 people) !! And they tell you this in a super arrogant ton of voice.. front desk and house keeping both. The curtains are TORNED... for a room thats costing me 11k per night!! When you ask for the MANAGER.. He does not show up, or doesn't even call you to know what's wrong. .... Don't know how much time he actually takes... Because while I am writing this review (several hours since we asked for him)... There is still no sign of him. The total light in the room is just one step up than a nightlamp
Well... These are just my first 3-4 hours in goan heritage. Already irritated sufficiently. Let's see how the day...
