We stayed a week in a beachfront hut. The room is basic as you’d expect for a beach hut, but it’s spacious, a big comfortable bed, air con which works well plus a fan, clever storage and safe behind the bed and decent sized open-to-the-elements bathroom. The shower doesn’t have much pressure but it’s ok and has good hot water. |The sea facing balcony/terrace is a good size, with a chair, small table and a sofa. I loved the outdoor fan, lighting and especially the curtains which gave a bit of privacy and more importantly shade from the sun. |The restaurant serves good food with western and local choices. The inclusive breakfast was a slightly limited selection from the restaurant menu, and was excellent, as was the coffee!! |Filtered water is freely available, just ask at the bar. |Staff is quiet, but extremely hard working. |There is a pretty smart system in operation whereby you can WhatsApp if there is a problem or you want drinks or food from the menu, they will bring to your room or on the beach.||One slight criticism I would have is the restaurant doesn’t open until 9, and you won’t get a coffee or breakfast much before 10. That’s fine for a laid back vibe, but when you’re jet lagged and up at 5am it’s a long time to wait for a coffee, and there are no facilities in the room. |Overall only a small negative, it’s a wonderful place and I’d highly...
Read moreWord was already out amongst my peers about the simplistic attraction of Nada Brahma. Run by an old friend of mine from the UK and his fabulous partner, this resort is truly a labour of love and is understated in its detail.
A lot of thought has been put into the rooms and vibe, and this is instantly apparent. We had a garden room, which is a terribly inaccurate description of what came to be known as our jungle hut. It is SO MUCH MORE! Suspended above the resort on a rock, it’s location within the resort, as with all rooms, affords complete privacy and a feeling of being perfectly secluded. We spent hours on the balcony reading and chilling to the sound of the jungle. Genius!
Located at the quieter end of Patnem beach, there are so many small nods to detail, you could almost be complacent. Ceiling fans on the balconies as well as in the room, semi-alfresco bathrooms, high speed WiFi everywhere plus plug sockets in the outdoor seating areas for those digital nomads, a WhatsApp room service facility and a well thought out menu are some I can list right now.
Pete and Anat are the perfect hosts and their relaxed friendly attitude has rubbed off on the staff who are always on hand without it feeling forced.
And at this price point you really cannot go wrong.
