Riverside Regency Resort — Hotel in Goa

Sad that we have to give one Star at least to provide review!

Located by the side of a dirty lake near Baga beach, this is a place which tempts you to stay here as itz near to the beach. That temptation may spoil your entire trip once you change that to a decision to stay here.

You'll be welcomed by a rude lady who talks in an utterly sarcastic and unfriendly tone, which forces us to seriously try and recall whether she had any previous enimity towards us. All other staff behaves as they were trained by this lady at the reception.

The property seems to be strictly ill managed. Wondering how they manage to keep it as smelly and messy as it is.

They gave 2 extremely small pieces of soap to bath. When asked for a shampoo, as there were no general Stores nearby to get one (needless to say that hotels generally provide a sache), the staff seemed to be hearing that word for the first time in his life.

The restaurant attached is good looking but doesn't meet itz basic purpose. Not a single person would ever order anything from here and they too hardly care. The staff seem to while off the time watching TV. The complimentary breakfast was nothing but a joke! A stale upma and bread-butter-jam. If we ask if they have anything else, the staff puts up a face that the receptionist must've trained to keep and extents an old Menu card with the prices mentioned against it. It Seemed like asking "you still need anything extra??!"

When asked for Wifi password, we got it right away, just to soon know from the same person that it doesn't work. How nice!

You have 2 pools here which I don't find as a real advantage, as we visit Goa for the beaches.

We had the strong feeling of vacating the rooms before we even checked in, the feeling remained and became stronger as we stayed along.

This is a Must Avoid place to stay! Stay Away! You have better places around for cheaper rates providing better facilities. High time for the management to start maintaining the property before it goes to ruins inculcating a culture of hospitality in the staff (it's doubtful whether the present staff can do anything about...

Hotel staff is very helpful and modest. I had a good stay here. So I will talk about the improvement areas. Hotel has a strict policy of charging 600 per bedsheet if stains found but irony is that every bedsheet of the hotel has some or other stain, they don't provide room slippers which they should if they are charging 2800 a night for a normal AC room. Decent lighting, garden or pool view with a balcony which is excellent. Most of the switchboards were faulty in my room and in the reception. ACs are old school, atleast 10-15 years old. And yes no locker available in the room or mini fridge. And they give medimix soaps for bathing, so no toiletries.

Their biggest scam is wifi, speed only 0.5 Mbps and available only in the reception. You practically can't use it for anything. Hotel is situated at an excellent location with the backwaters view and you will find all kind of shops and restaurants near by (every range). Scooter and cars available for the rent in front of the hotel with no security deposit which is again an advantage. Finding transport for you bus and airport is gonna be a trouble, practically zero. Pool is in excellent condition, check my pictures. Restaurants of the hotel, Salwater cafe has all kinds of food and drink options available and it's priced just right especially with this view. Hotel is at good location , property is good ..but staff behaviour is too bad , room service is zero ...no hot water , no one is giving answers for anything ...so basically a good property is destroyed by a staff attitude and behaviour...reception male boy is rude ...when we reached for check in at 2 pm , still rooms were not ready ...check in time was 1 pm ...we just asked why at 2 pm rooms are not ready ? And the answer was shocking , i am receptionist , i can't drag out people from room or I can't make people work ... I asked than if rooms might not be ready till late evening , we have to wait ? He bluntly said yes ...i can't do anything 🤔..

Than in our two days stay , no one was there for any room service , new towels were not givin second time , we have to take our luggage by our own to 1St and 2nd floor ...

For check out also , no one was there to pick our luggage...again we have to take our luggage by our own ...so many problems and complains ...can't even remember all problems now 🙂😆

Overall ...if I could have option of zero than i could have givin zero or negative stars

Only good thing was restaurant...
