The property's finer qualities -- pleasant setting, comfortable room, clean pool -- did little to mitigate the owner's arrogance, rudeness, and patronizing attitude. We were appalled when he raised his voice in anger at us for flagging the numerous service shortcomings and outright deceitful claims on the resort's website. These include:||||- The A/C and the telephone in the room didn't work on arrival; the staff were slow to repair them, and only after numerous requests.||||- There is no functional restaurant, just a kitchen to possibly make dishes to order (when we arrived at 8:45pm, the only option was spaghetti aglio olio). Certainly no "live stations" at breakfast or a wood-fired pizza oven as claimed on the website. When we raised this with the owner, he said that it was hardly worth it to have the full kitchen running for "just two guests." (Meanwhile, he hurried us into making the reservation, claiming that "rooms are getting booked very fast, as we speak.")||||- The toilet was running the entire week we were there, despite reporting the problem multiple times. ||||- NONE of the water sports advertised on the website were available. The owner claimed that kayaking was not available because the only paddle had been broken during construction. The website, however, boasts kayaking excursions directly from the hotel (with a single kayak??). Hotel staff didn't even know what kayaks were. We hired our own outfitter at significant cost and inconvenience (35-minute drive each way). The owner did not offer to absorb this cost.||||- The "luxury bath items" claimed on the website did not include basics like shampoo, and the hotel staff didn't know the difference between shampoo and body wash.||||- The owner was incredibly rude, arrogant, and patronizing. He shouted at us at length when we raised the above issues. During the 2nd day of our stay, the hot water wasn't working. When we raised this with the owner, he scoffed at us, and accused us of not knowing how to turn on the hot water (we managed the hot water easily enough on the 1st day of our stay).||||- "Experienced and knowledgeable staff" advertised on the website were non-existent. We observed 3 staff plus one cleaner, all of whom were nice, but fairly green. Even the owner had no idea what a reasonable fare for a local taxi might be, boasting that they have no need for one, since they have their own vehicle.||||- Other features boasted on the website that simply didn't exist: stocked mini bar (only a mini fridge and coffee), housekeeping service twice daily (the first couple days they didn't even come once, despite requesting room cleaning), hair dryer, turndown services, fly screens, spa.||||- In terms of COVID precautions, not a single staff member, including the owner, ever wore a mask during the entire week, even when indoors.||||Overall, the facility could make for a nice vacation if it didn't overpromise and under-deliver so drastically. There were no other guest (no wonder!). staff was limited, in fact only manager and one other person was there. The deck on the river front was missing. The river is little away than they showed us in the pictures. We felt insecure in the hotel. They call it a resort but don't think it's a resort. In the evening they didn't even turned ON the lights. When we asked them to turn the lights ON they turned on few lights and said only these lights will be turned ON. All the reviews on Google and other websites are manipulated. I am saying this because when I went to near by shop, the shopkeeper told us that it happens with every guest and that's why no one comes to that hotel. The shopkeeper said owner of the hotel is from Delhi and now he lives in USA so he doesn't really care about the guests. I guess he just want his property to be maintained and with that in mind he is running the hotel. TV was not working, AC was leaking. No restaurant no bar in the hotel. Bathroom window was broken. When I asked for changing the room the manager said your booking is for this type of room only and for changing the room you need to upgrade with INR 2500 when the hotel was completely empty! & when already we paid INR 4500 on Hotels.com! This hotel is faking about all the things they are saying on travelling websites. travelling websites should send their field person to check reality of the property. Very limited restaurant options Rude very Rude Manager- Paul is a very rude and egoist manager. He takes the feedback very personally. We were to celebrate our daughter's first birthday there and while booking he promised that he will take care of the cake and balloons. But during our stay we had a few complaints regarding the services and when we discussed them with him, he got furious and called us "illiterates" and told us he is "US-returned" and after that he nade every possible attempt to ruin our holidays like disconnecting power and water supply, not providing hot water, etc 3.No breakfast buffet- Very very limited breakfast options and you can order ala carte from a pathetic menu (image attached).
