If you want to try some Goan home food, this is your place. All the food is cooked at home by the host. She then explained how she made every dish listing all the ingredients she had used to make them. We had ordered the Squid Rawa fry as a starter. Personally we felt like rawa didn't go well with the squid. We then ate the Pomfret Thali which included a Bhindi Bhaji, Small Prawns Sukha, Fish curry, Fish fry, Rice and Solkadi. The host said she usually includes mussels in the thali but she has none left. She makes limited food for the day to avoid food wastage. This place is not meant for people looking for a sofistacated ambience with music.

If you are looking for the real Goan essence in Food. This is the “place”. It may not look like a commercial restaurant as this cafe is run on the rooftop of their house. And that itself gives u a homely feeling. The uncle frying the fish for you and Aunty preparing the curry,Thali, etc. Literally felt like your own mom and dad serving you food when you go back home after a long day. Food was truly outstanding. When we left it really felt like our hearts and stomach both were full… ☺️ Since the cafe specialised in Fish we only tried Fish Thali and Squid Fry, King fish fry. Strongly recommended amazing taste and just try it once.

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Morjim, Smoke Fish Café is a true hidden gem run by a warm-hearted local family. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like a longtime friend. The seafood is nothing short of soul food — the grilled prawn is fresh and smoky, the fish and prawn curry is rich with home-ground spices, and the fish thali feels like something lovingly prepared in someone’s own kitchen. Every dish reflects the family’s deep connection to the sea and their passion for feeding others with care. At Smoke Fish Café, you don’t just taste the ocean — you taste love.

If you’re looking for a place that serves incredible food without the frills, this simple, homely gem is where you need to go. The ambiance is as unpretentious as it gets a basic setup with a native Goan touch that feels more like you’re dining at a local’s home than at a restaurant.

But don’t let the simplicity fool you; the food is absolutely to die for. The seafood is unbelievably fresh and cooked to perfection. The prawn curry, bursting with Goan flavors, is a standout, while the fish rawa fry is crispy, flavorful, and simply irresistible. Their Goan thali is a must try, it’s a no-nonsense platter that delivers authentic taste in every bite.

What makes this place special is how the flavors take center stage. You won’t find fancy plating or over-the-top presentation here just honest, hearty food that speaks for itself.

If you’re a fan of soulful, native cuisine, this is the place to be. No fancy decor, no gimmicks just great food that will leave you coming back for more. Highly recommended for...

Hole in the wall, you'll most likely miss it on your way to somewhere else. But then you'll also miss out on the absolutely delicious home cooked meal. A delight for seafood lovers who're looking for home style fish)seafood thalis amid the glitz and glitter of fancy restaurant lined streets. I ordered a kingfish thali which had a sizeable rawa fried kingfish, chonak sabzi, dried prawn fry, veg sabji, solkadhi and salad. My partner is a vegetarian and opted for a veg thali (sadly that's the only option for vegetarians). It had chapati, dal, 2 sabzis, chole, a yummy dal and solkadhi and papad. Hearty meal, the lady of the house prepares the meals with a lot of love and care and you'll feel it while eating. The ambience is nothing to write home about but heading back well fed, satiated and definitely coming back for more of...

Best Food in Whole goa, it is situated near Morjim beach. It's local goan food and you will find many local goan fish resturant but once you eat here you will understand the difference. It's most authentic and tastiest food I have ever tasted. Rates are reasonable, Quantity is amazing. Ambiance is very simple but beautiful. You food will take some time because they cook food instantly and served fresh food only even curries.

And most importantly they make their own masalas .

They serve bear only no other drinks but you can carry your own drinks.

Owners are amazing and service is so great.

Recommend food

  1. Prawns masala fry
  2. prawns fry 3)Kingfisher fry
  3. Clamps
  4. All types of Thalis.

Tip if you want to try many dishes than take only one thali for 2-3 people and ask for seperate curries and...
