We had a superb stay at the Cascade Mountain Retreat. As the hotel was so great we stayed in Manali for 5 days. We chose the King room which was really large with a large bathroom
The property has about a 100 apple trees and the orchard gives the property a verdant look with the cottages having their own privacy. The feel of the place is very homely. Since we were out of the house for a month we used the laundry service which was outsourced and quite cheap. Having a cheap laundry service was a big boon.
The food was good. Better to stay with Indian food as the Chinese wasn't that great. But the chicken and aalo sabzi was yummy. My son ate pancakes everyday and loved them.
Richa was a very helpful person and always available. They staff was a very gentle group. They are happy to help wherever they can.
Although all the rooms don't have kettle or phone, it didn't matter as they were willing to give warm water regularly. (Although when it is cold, a kettle in every room might be essential).
Location of the place was also wow. Because it is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Manali. But it is easily approachable from the.main Manali road. GPS will make life miserable for you (as it did for us 😥) so just call and ask for directions.
Some cafes are also close by like Ride Inn so you can walk there for after dinner coffee too.
Anyway it's a great place to stay. Would love to visit again for a longer...
Read moreIf you are looking for a serene place to stay in Manali, to recharge and connect with the mountains, definitely recommend this place! The property is so beautiful and magical, you can walk around and be among the apple trees and lovely flowers, it all feels peaceful and serene. Each cottage/house is spread out nicely, so you can have privacy. The room is spacious and comfortable, feels right at home, with a beautiful window and balcony with stunning views of the mountains. The bathroom is very clean and the hot water always reliable. The way is fast and stable. We stayed here for a few days and wish we could stay more. Definitely want to come back in winter and see the place with snow. I also love the location, since it feels far from the touristy buzz in Old and New Manali, and it feels like you have the mountains more to yourself- but not too far that you can’t visit whenever you want. It’s near to visit all popular landmarks by taxi, or even a small hike. The restaurant at the property has delicious food that you can enjoy among the apple trees, you won’t want to leave. The people working there are all nice, kind and always attentive, and make the place even more welcoming. It’s ideal for a vacation for a couple, or a family. I can’t recommend this enough, and I would love to be back soon, thank you...
