I rarely write reviews, but our visit to Smokehouse deserves more than just a passing mention - it was one of the most memorable meals we've had as a family.
From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed like family. Nitika and Faiz, who run the place, greeted us with such warmth and grace that it genuinely felt like walking into someone's home rather than a restaurant. That feeling of comfort lingered throughout our time there.
The setting is something out of a dream - a gorgeous mix of rustic interiors and a beautiful garden with a brook running through it. We had a lovely time sitting outside, enjoying the sound of the fire crackling and the soft gurgle of water nearby. Indoors, the ambience is cosy and elegant, filled with character and comforting old-school charm.
Now, the food. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece. The Lamb Roast was easily the best I've ever had tender, beautifully seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The Fish and Chips were crisp and golden, with flaky fish inside. My wife and daughters couldn't stop raving about the Truffle Burrata Plate earthy, rich, and elegantly balanced. The Salsa Sausages were another winner - smoky, juicy, and with just the right kick. Each dish carried a sense of intention and originality - it's clear this isn't your average menu. It's thoughtful, bold, and truly one-of-a-kind.
Adding to the joy were the two beautiful dogs, Elsa and Lili, who gently made their rounds and added to the homely, relaxed vibe. Being dog lovers, we truly enjoyed spending time with the well-behaved girls. To our delight, we also discovered their unique pet menu - a thoughtful, charming touch that made our children light up with joy. It's not every day you come across a place where even the four-legged family members are pampered with such care. Just another reason why Smokehouse stands out.
If you're looking for more than just a meal - if you want an experience that blends soul food, live fire, warm hospitality, and nature - Smokehouse is the place. It's not just a restaurant; it's a feeling. We left with full hearts, full bellies, and a strong desire to return soon.
Highly, highly...
Read moreDuring my week-long solo trip to Manali, I was delighted to discover Smokehouse by BraaiCraft—a cosy in-house restaurant at my accommodation, The Native Route in Shanag. The menu offers an eclectic range of smoked and grilled delights, the portions are massive and completely value for money.
I ended up having most of my dinners at the Smokehouse, and loved all their flavors and dishes. The live-grilled Smokehouse Breakfast was a standout, setting the perfect tone for the day. Some of my favourites included the Salsa Sausages (my go-to order), Prawn Salad, Smoked Chicken, and Chicken Asado—each dish bursting with incredible taste.
I travelled with my dog Charlie, who also fell in love with the place. The pet-friendly vibe truly shines here, especially with a dedicated Pet Menu. Charlie went gaga over the smoked chicken strips and BBQ meat bites, making it a treat for both of us.
Mornings were equally special, with a superb cup of coffee by the brook in the delightful company of Elsa and Lili, the charming resident pets. With its warm hospitality and comfortable on-site accommodation, the Smokehouse is more than just a restaurant and Airbnb—it’s a must-visit retreat that made my time in Manali...
Read moreMy daughter and I, along with our dog, stayed at the accommodation provided by Smokehouse by BraaiCraft and had a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome. The place is truly dog-friendly, not just in words but in action. They even have a dog feeder installed for the local dogs, which was heartwarming to see.
We had most of our meals here, each one was enjoyable. The Mutton Roast was excellent, and I especially liked the Prawn Salad. Their tea was beautifully served and just what I needed in the cold. We also tried the galantine, fish and chips, and smoked vegetables everything was well-prepared and flavourful.
What stood out the most for me was the attention to detail in the dining setup. The dinner tables were laid out beautifully, the napkins, crockery, and cutlery were thoughtfully chosen, and the way they served tea was a delight. It felt like a fine dining experience, yet in such a peaceful, homely setting.
It was a wonderful stay and lovely, and I look forward to...
