THE WOODS — Hotel in Gurugram District

Hosted an event some time ago at this beautiful outdoor space. Their empanelled decorator (Ms. Shalu) was wonderful to work with. They have a big, lush green outdoor space to host events, the con being no permissible music due to nearby residency. However, the smaller and indoor banquet kind area can host a small gathering with music (Dj) added. The food is decent, albeit priced a little steep, considering their overall presentation and taste. The management (at least the few, whom we got to coordinate with) is NOT cooperative! Their approach is a bit too rigid in handling a client and accommodating their needs, even in today's competitive age. A little too much set in their ways is not a friendly thing to deal with.

Would suggest this venue for event hosting ONLY if you live nearby, coz then u'd be more comfortable doing the to and fro! However, considering the major factors- price, decor, brand value, management et al, would rather suggest Hilton Garden Inn in vicinity!

Its a decent place for family parties and get togethers. The property is quite good and well maintained. Most of the time you will see this place occupied by corpprates for their events and meetings along with some family fucntions that happen from time to timr. This place doubles up as a club for the housing society next to it. They also have membership facility. The swimming is also quite good. So if you are a person who hosts lot of events be it personal or private go grab the membership of this place. Not to forget the food spread is quite delicious over here. They have gym, kids corner and lot of other facilities which I have not seen in other properties. Coming to downsides of this place. This place is not suitable for large or really events. If you plan to go for 100+ pax event then parking might be a problem over here. Second downside is that it is located on a very busy road (mostly during weekdays) if you plan to host an event here go for a weekend date. Also not to forgwt the staff over here is very helpful...

This is a Dharamshala, if you are not booking most of the rooms on premises, chances are you’ll get yourself in pickle. I am writing this review as struggling to sleep while it’s my fourth day in “the woods”. This place was booked for wedding reception and all other rooms around mine are booked by the same party, despite requesting we need a quite room. It’s so loud in the hallway that you literally can not sleep. People are slamming doors, laughing and singing so loud. Being total stranger I can not match their enthusiasm around midnight. This is an old building and the other day there was some renovations going on with no consideration about others! Noise disturbance is totally not on their list. For the money you’ll be paying it’s not that clean either. Two more things toilet seat in the bathroom room is not balanced. It’s way too high one side.
