Hotel Somdeep Palace — Hotel in Indore City

Visited this hotel with family for a 4 nights stay in Oct 23, would say it's a decent budget hotel in Indore with a convenient location for road trippers. Would summarise my experience as below.

Pros: Central location for easy access and exit from indore city without worrying about traffic. All tourist points can be covered from this location by rickshaw or car in a day.

We booked through Goibibo and got a good deal for 4 nights @16k approx inclu breakfast for 3 for super delux room.

Good sized rooms which can easily accommodate 3 adults and has all the necessary amenities inclu refrigerator, electric kettle, toiletries etc

Good spread for breakfast which included veg and non veg both and was tasty indeed.

Rooftop cafeteria and lounge provides good views of the city, also has a small swimming pool.

Cons: Rooms were not maintained properly and even after asking for room cleaning they were not 100% clean. The same is with washrooms and there is a lot of scope for improvement with regards to cleanliness and hygiene which the room lacked starightaway.

Staff at the reception were sluggish and needed multiple calls and reminder to attend to basic needs and even conveniently ignored on a few occasion. Same was with security staff at the main gate.

They have mentioned a number of facilities available on their hotel website but i highly doubt they provide all of them as we enquired about availability of doctor during our stay and instead of providing any credible information they asked us to visit nearby hospital instead as they did not have any idea about doctors clinic in the vicinity which was quite strange.

No dedicated parking available as they have converted the basement into banquet hall and thus parkings are done on the street just outside hotel in typical indorean style with two tyres resting on footpath while the other two on road😀

I strongly recommend all the outsiders to not to visit this hotel rather you can visit Radisson Blu Hotel because Hotel Somdeep's staff behaviour is so irritating and rude. They make you fool by saying they have lost Tariff card on asking by you and do charge whatever price they want to, by seeing person's personality. Me and my father visited there a week ago, they were like they would provide good services but ask to us it was apsolutely unsatisfactory and a bad experience staying there for a day. They don't show you the charge rates i.e. Tariff card on which every category wise room's rate is mentioned, even they pretend like it's lost, they couldn't find it at a moment and make you fool by charging very high rates.They charge really expensive than Radisson Blu Hotel. Even they would also give you the room where chimney sound from kitchen would disturb you whole day by telling you that they don't have other vacant rooms. Even no soap solution was available in washroom , when asked they just ignored it. No cable was there until asked and says all the facilities are provided in our Hotel..This is what they call facilities and services. I was in a official trip to Indore and this hotel was booked by my office for 5 nights, I would like to highlight few points which is very bad for a Hotel with such repute.||||1. The most annoying fact is they have a pub in the basement and the speakers are on high volume in the night till 11.30-11.45, and the sound vibrates the entire building as if its shaken by a earthquake.||2. Housekeeping is bad they even dont bother to refill the Tea & Coffee supplies not even daily quota of water.||3. Every morning someone calls from the restaurant waking you up saying breakfast is ready even on a sunday morning when people tend to sleep little late, same in the evening on the name of offering 10% discount they call up andask you to come to their restaurant.||4.The quality of food is very poor, even the breakfast spread which is there quality of bread in the sandwich is bad they are hard may b few days old, the parathas are as thick that one will find difficult to chew them.||5.initial booking was done for 2 nights and then extended but daily from reception around 11am a person wil call and ask Sir are you checking out.||The property and rooms are good but genuine lack of...
