It all started the day I booked this hotel through Makemytrip. Before booking this hotel I had gone through the reviews and had also checked the website of the hotel. The picture hotel has on their website is nothing but a lie. The actual picture is in Makemytrip. After booking 2 rooms, the following day when I called the hotel to inquire about early check-in, they told me they had no booking under my name. In the following 8 hours, I had to call Makemytrip 7 times and the hotel 5 times to confirm the booking. Thereafter, when I tried to place the request for early check-in (their check-in and check-out time is 12 PM) at around 8 or 9 AM, hotel told me that I have to pay at least INR 1000 for the 2 rooms. We reached at around 11:30 AM and saved ourselves from the fee. We were given the keys but when I reached my room I found the room was locked from inside. When I knocked, a guy, half naked, open the door. I ran to my friend's room. We told the hotel what had happened, but they said the room is empty but it ll take 30 minutes to prepare the room. Obviously the hotel was lying as I saw the guy myself. I was given the room at 12:30 pm but the room was all wet with the moping and there was a used wet towel on the table. I called the service number and told them about the towel and also placed the order for tea. Tea came but there was no one to pick the towel. The service guy who bought the tea said he's from the kitchen so he's is going to send someone to pick the towel. That towel was still lying in my room when I checked out on the 27-Mar-16. I checked in on the 25-Mar-16. Before choosing this hotel I read the reviews of the hotel and I read someone giving very good review on the food served at the hotel. I ordered my dinner as well as the breakfast but believe me it was nothing like I read. The pillow in my room was very old and hard and it was not the pillow we use at home. It was the one which you get from the local razaiwala shop, made of cotton and because it was very old, it got hardened. The room had TV but most of the channels (especially the English ones) was blurred. On the day of check out, we had to check out late as our bus was leaving in the evening. The hotel charged me INR 600 as late check-out fee at 5:30 PM for my room. After my experience at the hotel, I wonder whether all the good reviews I read, were by the real guests who stayed there or had they been paid to write such reviews or is it the hotel who is creating accounts and writing all these reviews. I would not advise anyone for this hotel. There are hotels all over the market in Katra. Go for anyone but Hotel...
Read moreGuys.....if ever you get even a whiff of a feeling that you have to stay at this place.....please remember that Do NOT....Absoloutely Do Not stay out there, no matter how inviting or new-ish this property seems to you. Coz once you have decided to stay here, you are totally at the mercy of the management who will offer no refuge or compensation of ever anything goes wrong.||||We happened to arrive at Katra while it was raining on Friday evening and through some aquaintance found this hotel which at first seemed not so bad. We took the keys and at the same time pointed out to the management that one of the rooms' toilet was stinking like crazy (in the new wing on the 2nd floor). We booked three rooms between 7 of us (2 doubles and 1 triple occupancy and the triple occupancy room was smelling horrible) and immediately left for Mata Vaishno Devi shrine trek. Next morning when we arrived at around 7 AM, we were surprised to find that still the room was not attended to and it was stinking as hell like earlier. We were dead tired but still called the management and informed them the same. They however did nothing much for it and in the end we all had to get accommodated in the 2 rooms available to us. ||||Much to our dismay however, when we reached 3 hours later to settle the bill, and requested to offer some rebate since we had not used the room even one bit and that it as still stinking till now, management asked us to wait while it kept settling payments of other travellers. We waited for quite sometime, irritable of course. When our patience was running out, the man at the reception said that the manager had arrived in his room and we can now meet and request for whatever our grievances were. When we explained the situation, he started retaliating and asked us to settle and pay in full and nothing can be done and that why in the first place did we take the room. We were totally shocked at this apathy and hence decided not to pursue the case any longer and paid in full and left..........very very dismayed and disappointed.||||Guys, its one of the worst places to stay if you happen to find fault and point that out to the management who will do absolutely nothing about...
Read moreMUST READ!!! I DON’T RECOMMEND! I came here after checking out the reviews of other people but my experience with my family turned out to be the worst ever. We have had never seen such a worst hotel with worst service. Hotel name is Hotel Kerni Palace but it’s service is just the opposite of the word palace. It could be that earlier staff was different and good but currently all are just there to rob money from your pocket and in return give equivalent to nothing. When we reached katra, we went to hotel and stayed there for less than an hour to get fresh and they said they will reasonably charge for it at the end. We asked for a delux A.C. Room which was for ₹1800 and they gave us the keys of super delux room without telling us which was actually for ₹2400. And their rooms were really poor: Washroom started smelling next day, AC were so old that they were switched on for the whole night but still chilled the room with coolness. We stayed in katra for 2 days. And at the time of billing, they charged us ₹2400 instead of ₹1800. And for that one hour stay, they charged us ₹600. We even argued about it as it was their fault since we asked for a ₹1800 room. But anyhow we had to pay as we were getting late for the flight. I would definitely not recommend this hotel...
