Hotel Shakuntala — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

A Hotel with cheaters, mannerless, rude and feelingless people. I went there with family and agreed to pay Rs 1500 (4 single bed family room) for getting fresh and ready and they promised to offer same room for full day at approx same cost for whole family.

But, When we came back after vaishno ma darshan they were someone else. They asked Rs. 3000 for the same room and told us to take one more room as now they wont allow whole family in that room in a completely rude way.

Those ** didnt even offered water or cared about children and women those were tirelessly resting on reception sofa looking to get room keys which was beyond my expectaions.

If you are going to katra would suggest to be awared of people. You can be cheated to pay extra on every service like from katra to banganga auto cost 150 and same route when you are returning will cost you 400. Online reciept print cost Rs.40, Shaving 85, malish wala will cheat to say start with some service and end with saying that he gave that extra service so now pay extra and much more.

They have Clean rooms, with good ventilation and helpful staff and we visited twice due to the nature of staff and location as the hotel is located at Kashmir road And near to the old bazar of Katra, we as a family always prefer to stay there when we come to Katra for darshans of Mata Vaishno Devi ji, the Owner of this hotel is also very polite and Guideing Person. They host Groups of many states as they provide their kitchen for their Cooks to prepare their regional food of there choice . The hotel has its own car parking and is located near Government parking to park big vehicles like Travellers & Buses. And the hotel being near the old bazar provides you a big choice to have good quality food of different types and it also helps you to buy gifts & Souvenirs & variety of dry fruits of Jammu and Kashmir state like Almonds, Walnuts & local delicacy Amloke , Dried Apples are available here for your friends & family ,if u come Katra by bus the hotel is also very Close to...

Hotel is a bit inside from the main road. Hotel's location is very good, as Main Bazaar (Market) and Yatri Reservation Counter is walking distance (200-300 meters). The hotel definitely needs some maintenance and repair works. TV does not work, no geyser, cleanliness is 2 out of 5. Resturant renovation is in progress so it is closed for the time.
