OYO Hotel Birsa Vihar, Ranchi — Hotel in Jharkhand

I had a pleasant stay at Birsa Vihar Ranchi . But I don't know why the prefix 'OYO' has been added to the hotel name in google and some 'Team OYO' is responding to the reviews . This is a hotel run By Jharkhand Tourism (JTDC) and has no relationship with OYO. This hotel can be booked online only from JTDC official website . I will list the pros and cons of the stay .

Pros :-

Excellent location . This is at the heart of Ranchi city and anyone who wants to get feel of the hustle bustle of the city life , this hotel is best choice .

Parking for 4 wheelers . This is probably the only hotel in Ranchi ( I am excluding 5000+ /night star hotels ) where one can get proper easy big parking space . Parking in Ranchi is a big problem and this can be the only reason to stay in this hotel if someone travels by own car .

Room sizes are quite big and everything is in working order .

Lift/Elevator which is very useful for the senior citizens .

Cons :-

Biggest letdown is food . The complimentary breakfast is a joke . You have 3 choices :-4 puris with sabzi ( Sabzi taste was not good) OR 2 aloo parathas with Achar ( No curd ) OR 4 bread butter ( No eggs ) . And a flask is kept with tea ( No choice for sugarless or black tea ). Anything else you want to have is chargeable . And for dinner you have to decide what you want to eat (And majority of the items in the menu is not available ) and order it before 7 PM. But good thing is that the best eateries of Ranchi is available at walking distance from the hotel and Very good cheap Street food stalls are also present just outside the gate of the hotel . So one can ignore the restaurant of Birsa Vihar :)

They don't provide any complimentary items in the room. Tea/Coffee maker is there in the room , but they don't provide any tea bags or coffee sachets. And forget about dental kit or...

Not sure why it is listed as OYO but have reported to Google for the edit. This hotel is managed by JTDC. The rooms are very good in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The entire hotel is well maintained, and it gives a good feel right when you enter the reception area. It is located in the upmarket area of the city so you can find everything you need at a walking distance. Parking space was slightly tight but overall faced no issue with it. It's a safe gated parking. The only issue during my stay I encountered was the laidback attitude of some of the staff members. Not all but some. They may have their reasons, but it feels bad to see that such a premium hotel has unmotivated staff members. Mainly, I want to outline the kitchen staff who delayed the breakfast by more than 30 minutes as against the scheduled time of 8 am in the restaurant. Honestly, the breakfast was also not worth the wait. Again, they may have their reasons like shortage of staff etc but it's the guest who's suffering despite paying for better services. I wouldn't mind staying here again but I'll not be dependent on...

Good hotel, newly Constructed, service average , staff behaviour above average, under JT tourism, average room rent ₹2000 with complementary breakfast but only 4 poori or 4 bread that is horrible , they might not be followi approved menu of JTDC because we stayed at JTDC Prabhat Bihar though there staff was not giving good service but complimentary breakfast was good , it was boofe counter with menu ranging from pori, sabji, Achar, Bread toast with butter, boiled egg, jalani, Aloo paratha , Tea. But hotel Borsa Bihar also from JTDC but they are depriving the tourist, Parking place is narrow and very small. Only Room is very good and toilets are Fitted with modern Jawar system but at present there is no lift, you may feel hard to climb 2nd floor.
