I am not sure why Tripadvisor insists on categorising this as a B&B. It is a hotel, as are several of the other places in Tawang that have been placed in the B&B category. I chose the Dawa after previously staying in another overpriced and sub-standard hotel down the road and getting reports from other travelers about their own unhappy experiences. The Dawa was chosen for convenience (my transport stopped close by) and because it looked reasonable from the outside. And it turned out to be reasonable on the inside as well. The family that own or manage the hotel were helpful and courteous and the tariff for the room was reasonable by Tawang standards plus they were willing to negotiate a little. The room was large with a huge bed and various other pieces of furniture including a sofa and coffee table. The linen was clean although no top sheet and the bedding was ample and warm. The latter is important because Tawang is cold in November and the power hardly ever works. There was a geyser in the clean bathroom but it wasn't much use because of the power situation. The hotel has a generator for essential lighting when the power is off but not for other "luxuries" like power outlets and the geyser. The staff happily supplied a bucket of hot water on request. There was a balcony adjacent to my room along the front of the hotel with a door leading to it from the hall that was locked leaving no access. It could have been a nice place to sit and I am not sure why it was off limits.||||There is a restaurant that no one seems to use. It is also very central to transport and the market shops. ...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 nights. The location is good, right in the old market which makes it easy to go to restaurants. They served tea & coffee only since the cook wasn't available when we stayed. They provide a room heater on rent. They do not have a kettle in the room, however they provide hot drinking water from their kitchen. Mr. Anup in the hotel can help you with the local transport & shared sumo service to Dirang/Bomdila. They should improve the cleanliness of the room & the toilet. The toilet had a jet spray which didn't work. The rooms on the higher floor are...
