Hotel Coorg International — Hotel in Karnataka

Hotel is simple and peaceful but well organized and comfortable. It has welcoming ambience and courteous and well mannered staff. It is conveniently located right opposite the Police ground. Hotel has 25 rooms , all on first floor, and categorised into 4 different types - Standard AC, Deluxe AC, Suite AC and Family. Rooms are clean and well maintained.||Mr Antony from their reservation office in Bengaluru was especially helpful to me for room booking at a short notice. We, as two couples, stayed there for 3 nights - 1 night in the Family room and 2 nights in the 2 Standard AC rooms. Both the rooms had a balcony with a view. Family room was quite spacious and the balcony was also large.Please note that the hotel is within the city area and hence no close scenic or mountain view from its premises. Pets are not allowed in the hotel premises.||Family room had 2 double beds, sofa, center table, 2 chairs, desk with the wall attached mirror, side table , closet with safe deposit box, Cable TV, tea/coffee maker and 2 glass bottles for drinking water. Complimentary Wi-Fi, toiletries, hair dryer and laundry services are available for all rooms. Rooms also have the ceiling fans in addition to the airconditioners.||Main lobby area has a library cum travel desk room. Bar and multi-cuisine restaurant offer good seating arrangement and nice décor. Hotel also has the conference and banquet rooms which I did not see during my visit. We enjoyed our breakfast (included in the stay charge) on all three days.||The hotel also has a separate area within its boundary which has the main swimming pool, separate pool for children, small sized family games room, Ayurvedic massage centre and Spa. Free parking is available in its medium sized paved and walled compound which has also got separate entry and exit doors.||Distance to various sightseeing places are : Raja's Tomb - 1 km, Madikeri Fort - 2 kms, Raja Seat - 2 kms, Omkareshwara Temple - 2 Kms, Abbey Falls - 5 Kms, Mandalapatti - 18 Kms, Nisargadhama - 27 Kms, Harangi Dam - 33 Kms, Golden Temple Kushalnagar - 34 kms, Bhagamandala - 37 kms, Tala Kaveri - 45 kms,  Dubare Forest – 50 kms, Iruppu Falls - 76 kms, Nagarhole - 84 kms.Distance to Kannur airport - 95 kms. , Mangalore airport - 145 kms. , Bengaluru airport - 290 kms.,Mysuru railway station - 118 kms.||I also have some minor suggestions for the hotel management. I felt that the front desk was not adequately lit. I would have preferred some signboard, in the hotel compound, showing the way to swimming pool and games room. Providing hand towel and putting night lamp/dim light bulb in the rooms could be thought about. They may also consider putting the small scissor to manage easy opening and generally managing the coffee/tea sachets from the top. One of the worst hotel experience we ever had.

NOTE : This give below review is not to defame anybody or give our feedback to anyone, I am writing this review based on our Honest & Personal experience

Wrong information provided on make my trip and website that the hotel has a bar, on visiting got to know that its been months that the BAR is not operational. Swimming pool temperature not maintained nor its not cleaned either. They Don’t have sufficient swimming costumes. Please carry your own. ( however, hotel is charging 650 + taxes for each costume, and we brought 4 costumer from near by supermarket for 750/- ) Like others mentioned, I booked a Suit, and it really did have a foul smell and so much dust on the sceneries / walls etc – However, Any hotel suits usually has/provide a BAR, Flowers Boquete, fruit basket etc ( none were provided here ) worst part was is all the their tables in the room was wobbling so much that you are for sure to break your plates/glasses Dinner plates and glasses are so fragile, that the quality looks like its brought from China/Indian bazar. Definitely NOT a 3 start quality

• Very Imp * this is the first ever hotel that’s charges 300/- + taxes for borrowing dinner plates and cutlery. I mean seriously?? Make MY trip are you guys aware of it?? Breakfast was ok. Spread was ok too. Food quality and quantity were very bad. We ordered for masala peanuts which was served in a cracked plate and the taste was horrible ( rotted peanuts served) on complaining, they have just added some extra sauce, masalas and garnished with coriander and sweet lime.. trust me the taste remains the same and then we had to cancel. They say 10% discount on the food, but trust me the prices are absolutely NOT worth the quality and quantity. On the checkout date, few of the localities, supermarket guys have mentioned that the hotel is haunted. I am not sure if this is true, but when I actually step back and rewind my stay, my 2 yrs son fell like 3 time with out any reason, water glass broke had a crack on it own!! then this has been a question mark for us even today..

We were welcome with "I can't do it" We had paid 12.5k for the 26th Jan weekend for a triple occupancy(extra bedding) room and I had to defer my stay till March due to an excigency. Fact - The current prices :2500/night My ask - instead of an extra bedding in the room give me a extra room since we were 4 now The VP operations - I can't do anything, you can put whatever you want to put online.

Inferences We were already paying more than the present fare(2.5k) The family had to.fly from Delhi (20k) because it was non-refundable Zoomcar - 10k

The VP could have been courteous and given us another room but he charged 3k extra and gave a family room instead of an extra room

P.S - The complete hotel is empty. Only 2 rooms booked including ours

P.S.S - don't book this place even if you have to spend the night at the worst home stay. The place is dingy looking .. typical 90s hotel, the waiters are petrified and the management is vaguely clueless The cutlery was dirty had fragments of food on it. In today's day and age this 3 star hasn't heard of green tea. The wifi won't work after 10:30 as per the VP ops personal policy,your photon will probably not work at this location.
