If you want to get scammed, you order food from the Madikeri Paakashala. I ordered a papdi chaat and a masala puri last this evening through Swiggy. It was very promptly delivered, but there wasn’t any dahi with the papdi. On the menu it very clearly states against ‘ Papdi chat’ : crisp papdis layered with yogurt , tangy chutneys and spices. On contacting the hotel, the lady said that I ought to have selected ‘ dahi paprika chat’ instead of ‘ papdi chaat’ . I searched high and low on the menu, bit there was no ‘ dahi paprika chat’ Well, I told her the same and she said that they would be sending the curd across. I waited , in vain. Several calls later, finally a male voice at the other end again asked me what the issue was about. I had to explain everything to him. Then , he asked me to order a vada and not pay for it. He said to select COD and they would send across the curd and chutneys etc, stating that Swiggy would need to have the location, that’s the reason they wanted me to book once again. The vada came after half an hour but I was asked to pay for it. I contacted the restaurant and he squarely blamed me, saying that I should have called him and informed him. This totally unprofessional way of dealing with the entire order leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. The masala in the masala puri had very thin gravy. Overall a horrible experience, unlike the Paakashalas in Bengaluru. This one tarnishes the name of the chain of restaurants. Swiggy then cancelled the order and informed me that COD would never again be available to me. I have been penalised for the lapse of the hotel. I urge the restaurant management to take action against the staff who have created this mess which has led to cancellation of my COD...

Read moreThe biryani was not prepared properly, looked like normal rice turned into biryani. Left white clusters of rice in between. Food taste was also not so good. Ordered thali, biryani, Soup, gulab jamun and sandwich. Gulab jamun was like sugar ball without any other taste. Thali was decent, soup was bad and sweet. Waiter's attitude was not so welcoming, and showed like they were least interested in offering anything.
The place also we managed with the people who were just finishing their meals, waiters didn't even help us with the table. and which ever dish we asked was not available. The only dishes which were available were which we ordered.
Sandwich was decent, but couldn't eat more than half because of the after taste.
The ambience was very nice and after we left the place we knew that no one might be finding any better place than this near by and this place was abusing the customers like this.
The prices were decent but not worth the quality.
It felt appreciated by 25 percent from my perspective.
It was raining heavily and that was the reason of us going to that place, else we would have tried a different place at the first place when the waiters showed their poor attitude.
The place was clean and hygienic, the washrooms were also clean.
The place did have the chaat centre but after the initial experience, we didn't feel like going to taste...
