Hotel Shrinagar Palace is located right opposite to Hubbali Railway Station. Had gone on an official trip for one day so the company had booked the rooms in this hotel. We reached at 5 a.m. and from KSRTC Bus Stand, it took us 15 minutes by an Auto. The weather was cold as it was raining.
When we reached the hotel, we could see that the Reception was at the basement level.
After the check in formalities took place, we were escorted to our rooms on the third floor.
Since we still had three hours until breakfast started, we decided to catch up on our sleep.
I had traveled with two other people. They had taken the executive room, while mine was a standard room.
When we came out from the lift, we saw a seating area to the right hand side where one could sit and read the newspaper.
There are four floors and plenty of rooms on each of them. Mine was located near the other lift.
Once I entered, the first thing I noticed was how spacious it was. To my left was a mirror on the wall, dressing area rack, a mini wardrobe and a small shelf. Right opposite to the mirror was the bed - that looked so inviting especially after the sleepless journey!
The bathroom was located to the right hand side after entering the room. It was split into two sections - one was the shower and the other was the western style toilet. There was a small size soap, shampoo and moisturizer that had been kept near the T.V. One suggestion - Bring your own towels as the bath towels that were provided looked old and had stains on them. Also, there were only two bath towels and no face towels. The bedsheets and pillow covers were okay.
The executive room had three beds, two sofas, a coffee table and wardrobe. This room is useful if you travel as a family or a group. The only disadvantage is there is only one bathroom!
Breakfast began at 8 AM in the restaurant located at the Basement Level. We ordered Idli, Vada, Dosa, Tea and Coffee.
By 10 AM, we were ready to start with our work. In between, we had ordered Tea, Coffee and Badam Milk during break time.
In the evening, we had gone out and reached the hotel around 7 PM. It was time to pack and get ready for our journey back to the Coastal City.
Check out formalities took just ten minutes.
I would recommend this hotel for Solo Travelers - Women too - and also families, colleagues and friends. As the location is just walking distance from the Railway Station, it will be very convenient for the train passengers.
In the night, it took us just 10 minutes to reach...

Read morePerson at reception was polite and well mannered. Room was quite big and having all the basic amenities. Table chair setup for work was also available in the room. Bathroom was huge. Soap and moisturizer was provided in toiletries. They also gave one Mineral water bottle during check-in. Staff helped us with the luggage, there was a lift in hotel. Compared to other hotels in Hubbali, this one was decent and charging reasonable price. Next to hotel there are food joints for breakfast. One thing I didn't like was: Some stranger (man in his late forties-fifties) came infront of hotel and keep on staring us with some weird facial expressions. The staff who helped us with luggage was also not have decency to behave properly with female customer, you should not stare at any other person, especially opposite Gender.
If I were travelling alone, i would not prefer or suggest this hotel and the area as their were many such middle age uncle's...
