A regular before the pandemic, I visited after nearly a year. The old staff are gone as is the dynamic manager. The newcomers are friendly and polite but fail dismally in the service department. They try but are incompetent. The person who waited on us was unable to recommend dishes; unlike Vishnu of past who was dynamic and used to serve us dishes that weren't even listed on the menu.
The service...if you can call it that...is woefully slow. In fact at one point I asked for the bill before even ordering dinner but relented and suffered some more. The chicken biryani was good (demoted from excellent earlier) but the malai kabab had almost no salt and was undercooked...tasteless and dangerous in bird flu times. The other items aren't worth mentioning.
The ambiance is the same; good.
The HUGE change is the pricing across the board. A major increase on all items (the portion sizes are very small) and a staggering 175% increase on drinks! You read that right!
An astounding price increase combined with lethargic service and below par food... not worth it.

The 175% increase is most definitely a typo. I apologize. It should read as 75%. A black and white peg (60 ml) costs Rs. 349 now as compared to Rs. 199 earlier. I'm pretty sure that's a 75% hike.
My congratulations on the rave reviews you are receiving for your food as opposed to mine. But then again, you're guessing it was a "bad day" for your guys. That sounds about right...it was pretty bad. I did pay good money though.
NOW that you are endeavouring to reduce your already small portion sizes (to reduce wastage; noble. I'm certain prices will be reduced along with the portion sizes) I'll regretfully have to decline your invite for a return visit...but then again, I just might have to as my kid loves the hopscotch area!
As for connecting directly, it would help if someone answered the phone on the number given online. The automated voice message makes one wait and then disconnects with an assurance that one will receive a call. No one...
Read moreThe stay at lemon tree hotel was wonderful both for me and my family. The highlighting element in the stay was the delicious food being served throughout. The rooms provided were very clean and loaded with all basic amenities. Hot water was available throughout. The only disappointment was the rooftop restaurant were the staff was not properly trained to communicate with customers. During our stay the moment we stepped in we were told restaurant is closed...later we were told its open but no food is served... only drinks... the next day when we went we were told its open and serving food but everytime we ordered something waiter took 5-10mins to confirm if it's available... they were also giving silly excuses like the item will take time to reach top floor from kitchen during which it will turn cold...so don't order it... they were unaware about the size quantity of the items... leaving aside this, the whole experience was quite good... the buffet breakfast and lunch/dinner is a must try and you should definitely opt for the package providing both. Food is looked after by Head Chef Santosh Sethi who has done good work. special mention of cleaning staff eureka who only understands sign language but ensures you enter in a clean room. A recommended place to stay in Hubballi. It's 2-3km away from New Hubli Bus stand. Accepts UPI payment and...
Read moreLemon Tree is 1 of the worst Hotel ever I came across. They don't follow Food Safety mandate, Cleanliness or Hygeine or don't value their customers in anyway.
I had ordered Dal Khichdi and Gajar Halwa on 10th January in my room but to my shock I found Human Hair in Gajar ka Halwa (pics attached) to which I called the Manager and he assured me that he will escalate to his seniors and will get me the best resolution but till I get the resolution they took away the entire food and cleaned my room the next day.
Next day evening when I asked for FSSAI nos and Resolution to the General Manager called, Sriniwasan (attached is his pics), he said he will not provide any FSSAI nos and I have to find it on Google and threatened me saying, it wasn't their mistake but I may be purposely doing it.
Even after investing 70k in the team of 5 for 4 days, Lemon Tree couldn't do justice to their customers and threatened us badly.
I'll surely escalate this on a bigger level as the Food was not at all clean, Hygiene or Safe, on top the General Manager of Lemon Tree was terrible to deal with us.
Viewers reading this, please do not even choose Lemon Tree Hotel, Hubli ever as this is the far more worst...
