This restaurant is not new to me, been eating here since my college days (1994), however on my today's visit after a gap of 5 years, I had not so great experience mainly due to the hygiene issues specially in their hand wash area. There is no proper liquid soap kept for guests to wash their hands properly, plus the tap is a weird one coz you have to push the tap and only then the water flows and you have to keep it pressed with one hand which is counter productive in washing your hands as it will lead to further spread of germs. I had ordered upit (upma) and plain dosa for my lunch...upit was served fresh with chutney which was a great combo and loved it. Dosa was extremely oily as every bite that I took and my fingers were all soaked in oil which was messy and annoying. Ideally dosas should be dry from outside...I have never eaten dosa so oily and is a complete turn off for me. They could definitely look into preparing their dosa nice and dry so that whenever guests are eating their hands do not get oily and messy. Sambar quality is average and bordering too sweet in taste. Overall place has some fond memories especially for old veterans like me who keep visiting it every now and then since 1994, however they can up their game in food department and also maintaining the overall cleanliness and hygiene factor water tight more so...
Read moreGurudatta Bhavana hotel is known for its Tasty breakfast and snacks from many years. clean, Hygiene and well maintained in this class category of hotels. Best place to have Tasty breakfast, and evening snacks. I am visiting the hotel from last 15 years.. Morning Avalakki, Puri, uppittu, bonda sambar are very special breakfasts. Always crowded but Quick service is available. Meals not available only breakfast or snacks. parking facility for both 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers just beside to the hotel. Over all very good hotel for breakfast in...
Read moreWe fondly used to call as GB when I was at college and it was a common place for meeting friends almost 20 years ago. Was a nostalgic moment to visit GB today with family.
Taste still felt the same, service was as always the same (reasonably fast)and price matching the present trends around.
South Indian dishes - Idli, Vada, Bonda, Poori etc available during morning hours. Chats, sandwiches and juices available possibly in the evening hours. Place is right on the Hubli-Dharwad road with lot of parking space just before the hotel.
Recomend this place to visit when in Hubli, Vidhya nagar. For those who studied here, I am sure there are lot many memories associated with...
