RESERVATION AND GETTING THERE

You can make your reservation over call, pay 50% of your reservation charges in advance via google pay/paytm and the manager/owner sends you a confirmation via whatsapp. The remaining accommodation charges have to be paid before checking in.

You can either rent bike(s) for your stay from the city before heading to the property or reach there via auto which charges anything between 50-100 Rs depending on season.

Heads up - Renting bikes was not a wise decision because Gokarna Main Beach is 10 minutes away by walk towards north from the property, Middle Beach is a 15-20 minute walk towards north and kudle beach is a 5 minute walk towards south. The property is conveniently located between kudle beach and main beach. The walk from the property to the main beach is very scenic.

The property has ample parking space and if you are driving down or renting bikes you have enough secure space to park your vehicle right next to your room.

FOOD

At the entrance of the property there is a restaurant which is also the reception for the property. The restaurant is open to outsiders as well.

The restaurant serves simple and affordable south indian veg food (Dosa, Poori, Chapatti), juices, energy drinks, tea, coffee etc.

The restaurant is perfect for breakfast and sacks, however, you may want to venture out for lunch and dinner. There are many cafes around the property that can be reached by walk.

Nutella and packaged baked beans are also available for sale at the restaurant.

THE PROPERTY

There are around 6-7 rooms on the property and beyond all the rooms is a cliff that faces the ocean. The rooms are north facing whereas the cliff is towards the west. There were quite a few dogs and puppies at the property who were very friendly to kids and adults.

Given that the cliff is west facing, this property has one of the best spots to observe sunset in Gokarna.

THE ROOMS

This is a new property so the rooms and washroom are cleaner than any other property around this area. I would personally recommend people to stay at this property over zostel (unless you are looking for a dorm) or any other cramped up living space around the area as the rooms are clean and spacious and so is the property.

The room is spacious and can fit extra beds. The Bed is a queen size bed that has two pull out beds underneath it. Personally, I believe the room is ideal for 2-4 people and not more than that.

THE NYE NIGHT

We had no intention of spending the night at the property for nye but were forced to do so as the local magistrate had imposed S. 144 of the CrPC (Unlawful Assembly) in gokarna due to covid.

However, we ended up having a great time as there was ample space for every group staying at the property to do their own thing without disturbing other people. The moon and stars felt like they were right above the cliff which made the skies look beautiful.

It was a great view even at night and so we decided to spread a bedsheet on the hilltop and have a small picnic there with our food.

If you carry a tent you can also camp on the hilltop and access your room when you need it or when you're done camping. (Consult property manager in advance)

SUNSET

This hilltop/cliff is arguably one of the best sunset spots in gokarna and one must not miss out on observing sunset from this spot while staying here. One can also trek down the cliff as there are mud steps that have been carved out to make this trek easier. Please exercise care, caution and be mindful of your surroundings while exploring the cliffside.

Famed veg restraurant Prema, has a new destination and even better, it is now a resort/hotel. Recently opened, the set of cottages built on a sloping ground is a colourful riot! We stayed here 3 nights. The location is on the hilltop adjacents to the steps leading you to Kudle beach.

The rooms are truly spacious and can easily accomodate a family. I liked the huge bed, with two slide out cots below. As far as decor is considered, its very old school and might seem garish (the furnishings, purple cupboard and tile patterns) but its charming non the less. I would have liked a electric kettle, side tables etcs, but we used the wooden desk and chairs for the same. The AC works well and the bathroom again was clean, showers were brilliant with good water pressure. There is a small sit out, which is nice to read and simply enjoy the air.

The homes are opposite a Gurukul and there is a steady buzz of noise from the students, but nothing very disturbing.

For me the highlights were two.

The property location - Walking up the cliff, you encounter absolutely stunning views of the seas and surrounding, evening sunsets are blissful and the most relaxing.

Prema restaurant - The all veg eatery is very good. Great pooris, thalis, kombucha, meusli, fruit salads, juices and their famed icecreams and srikand.

Above all Mr. Chintamani's genial personality and helpful staff are the cherry on the cake. Do reach out to him for any tips around the area and especially accompany him on his daily beach treks, it is one of the true highlights of Gokarna. But be mindful, that it can be a little strenous in parts.
