Shivas Gateway Hotel — Hotel in Karnataka

Warm fragrance was felt, as I walked into the lobby towards the reception. Modern decor marks the getup of the front desk. So quick entry into the guest book, then walked into the lift to enter my room. Though the corridor looked dark, the room was well lighted soothing to my eye. Large window with lovely green view of the nature was something that I loved the most.

You are very likely to have a great stay at this property; not only because of its location but largely due to the luxurious atmosphere and very warm hospitality. I would always recommend over the other options around.

+++Food It was a delightful experience to share the dining table with their signature dishes and my preferred curries. To my surprise, they really make some elegant and classic food. Appreciate the chef for the ''Atta Chicken''. A preparation in which the tandoori chicken is wrapped with banana leaves and packed inside the layer of atta shell. To my surprise, the breakfast was really good. Not many hotels serve such a lavish variety. Loved their 'English Breakfast'. Lots of fruits and fresh fruit juice available. They do have a Indian section on the buffet spread to cater to every individuals taste. From South Indian food to North Indian, everything was good. The best part was, live preparation of the Egg dishes and the sausages. The chef was happy to cater to each guests demands.

+++Rooms The large window sights are my need at every hotel room, it gives me immense satisfaction to sit along and adore the nature. And Shivas gave me a good memory in those terms. My room had, all the basic amenities like the large LED, to the tea/coffee setup. To add value they did have the weighing machine, shoe shiner ( a very handy requirement). The washrooms were really impressive. The kit was provided as shown in the picture.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Please do not fall for the pictures displayed in the websites, it's a sham and far from reality. I guess they have used some amazing filters in the pictures that they have added to these websites. I have attached pictures which will tell the reality of this hotel's room. Rooms were dusty, doors of the room were stained and extremely appalling. Floating bed and wooden flooring does not compensate for the fact that the room was very untidy and ill maintained. Pillow covers and towel they provided was torn and worn out, just like the attitude of the people in the reception. All the walls were stained, bathroom floor was very dirty and the management said "Its a shade of Tile/Marble" . I mean seriously!!! After we complained they offered us two other rooms and apparently those were "BEST ROOMs" where the bathroom smelled like public toilet and we also found a bud of cigarette in their 'clean room'. Their 'General Manager' in the reception was extremely defensive, even after my husband shared the pictures. I guess Customer Service was not in their syllabus wherever they have studied hospitality. Fantastic experience & Luxury stay First think I did after checkout is to write a review on this beautiful stay over for new year eve with my best friends. We all are very lucky that we have decided to stay at this Hotel and had a gala time. The support staff were really supportive and co operative. The rooms are top class and very comfortable. I really liked the cleanliness and the interiors of this hotel. When it comes to food, starters are mouthwatering, followed by exquisite buffet and not forget the desserts. Morning breakfast had multiple options to select and they really mean when they say it, its a Multi-Cuisine Restaurant. Service guys are really friendly and that was a perfect customer service I had ever. I really have to take out few names Mr. Avin, Mr. Komu Prasad and Mr. George who is extremely help full in accommodating 15 of us in very short given time on the same floor for all of us and that was very generous about these guys. The Travel desk was very helpful and they were quick enough to drop us back. The prices are very affordable and we were really happy about it and I think we had started off our new year very well.
