Suvarna Residency — Hotel in Karnataka

Arrogant and untrustworthy host (Pradeep). Cancelled the complimentary breakfast which was agreed in replacement for not having quad room (2 double bed rooms). Clearly told over the phone will pay Rs400 instead of Rs300 complimentary breakfast cost only after writing good review and not mentioning the real experience and issues we had with this host and booking.||The details are listed below and I can provide Airbnb emails and whatsapp messages to support.||||One of the worst ever Airbnb booking experiences. Don’t trust the host. He lies and doesn’t know anything about guest hospitality, guest welfare and satisfaction is 0 on his list. ||We booked the apartment through Airbnb which clearly stated for 4-6 people and 2 bathrooms and all the necessary amenities including AC. ||We arrived at 10:38AM and in check-in request we clearly mentioned 10-12. We contacted staff and no response email, call and whatsapp (eventually got email reply). We reached reception at 10:38AM and was told it will take 30-40 mins to clean the room. We went for breakfast/early lunch. Came back at 11:40 and place still wasn’t ready. After waiting again, we finally got apartment at 12:10. Kids were exhausted and tired by now and just want to sleep as we have been travelling for past few days from Melbourne - KL - Cochin - Bengaluru - Mysuru.|| ||To disappoint further, apartment has only 1 bathroom and AC in one bedroom. We contacted host (Pradeep) and he said that’s what you have booked and have to pay Rs500 for another AC but only 1 bathroom. We have to send him screenshot of his Airbnb posting to prove us right.||After that he said he will give another A/C but can’t do anything about bathroom. As with 3 kids, it is very hard to manage with 1 bathroom and we asked for other options. He offered 2 A/C rooms with bathroom in the Suvarna residency building but it was not the same as apartment. No fridge in room, no kitchen to quickly make food for kids (have to rely on outside for food) and also as we are a Family of 4 with my my brother-in-law and his son. He offered 1 double and quad room to accomodate all 6. The rooms he offered were available online for cheaper (Rs800/per room with breakfast). After discussing. He agreed to do the same on the condition we take 2 double rooms instead of 1 double and 1 quad for complimentary breakfast or he can do 1 quad and 1 double to accomodate 6 and will give 50% discount on adult breakfast (Just have to pay Rs100 instead of Rs200) and complimentary for kids. We agreed on having two double bedrooms with complimentary breakfast instead of 1 double and 1 quad room as we were 3 adults and 3 kids. ||In the hindsight, it would have been best to cancel the booking and booked again but as we were exhausted and were here for a day. We thought of just compromising and going ahead with this offer.|| ||We had another drama with room check-ins. The A/C wasn’t working in first room (206) and to find rooms together with A/C working took another 20-25mins. Finally we got 1 room at 01:30PM and other around 2PM. Have to ask for towels and soap. ||This just ruined our day, 2-3 hours which we were planning to use for resting and continuing further with sightseeing to Mysuru and also added stress.We were just here for a day and wanted to best utilise it in these nightmare situation which we didn’t have to stress out. ||||We left around 3PM to see Mysore Palace came back at night from Brindavan gardens and for refreshing when we used towels provided. One of them had blood stains in both rooms. Have to request new towels (small things no mosquitoes repellent but just not smooth sailing).|| || ||Everyone was exhausted and somehow we managed 3 in one room and slept. The experience and issues didn’t end here. || ||In the morning we went for breakfast and was told you can have 1 tea/coffee and combo of either dosa/idli or vada/idli. In Dosa (plain, set and masala). The total per person with this combo couldn’t have been more than Rs70-75 (Yesterday when switching the rooms he offered breakfast discount of 50% and pay only Rs100/adult and free for kids as complimentary due to hassle. If you calculate the pricing, he was charging full price and nothing really complimentary) but we agreed to take double room instead of quad room and he agreed to make it complimentary for everyone. He said it includes 2 South Indian dishes per person and didn’t mention any restrictions. Basically, he didn’t tell the truth and provided all the information. Our kids don’t eat idli, we tried Vada and it wasn’t as good previous day.|| Our breakfast day before was combination of onion and set dosa. We planned to have same but realising we can’t have that. I contacted Pradeep (Airbnb host) him in the morning at 07:38AM to clarify this issue as he didn’t mention this yesterday. He said this is a combo meal and during conversation mentioned why you are being so hard, I am accomodating and not even in town but doing my best. ||He doesn’t know the concept of hospitality and is in business just to make money whether it is at the customer cost. I tried the explain our holiday was ruined and we didn’t get the room till 1:30PM and 2 PM when we were supposed to check-in at 12:00PM and had to wait in hot weather. ||I mentioned that I will be writing all the details in review and he said I am cancelling the complimentary breakfast and once you write good review I will transfer Rs400 in anyway you like but only after writing and submitting good review.||He disconnected the call. I contacted again to ask the deal was to have complimentary breakfast for not having quad room. He said I don’t trust you and you write good review, I will pay Rs400. I clearly told him, I will write the review as it happened and you can keep the money. ||I have whatsapp messages, Airbnb to prove majority of discussion. Don’t trust this host and if room is not as per the details, cancel the booking and go somewhere else don’t agree on details with him.||||This is my first ever worst experience with Airbnb. I had the WORST experience at Suvarna Residency and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone for stay. I booked rooms in advance for our out-station relatives. The receptionist took the money and gave us a receipt.Just one day before the date of our booking, the receptionist called me and said that there are no rooms available at Suvarna Residency and suggested another hotel for us. We trusted that to be true, and ur guests stayed in the other hotel but because the deposit receipt was from Suvarna Residency, the other hotel did not accept it at the time of checkout. After our guests left, I went to Suvarna Residency to collect my deposit money. I WAS SHOCKED when Suvarna Residency manager told me that I WAS CHEATED by that receptionist and that he is a fraudster who has duped others this way and that they have fired him. I believe Suvarna Residency had hired him without doing any background checks and that fraudster is roaming around freely. Suvarna Residency, instead of owning responsibility and giving me my deposit money back are declining it. This is how pathetic their customer service is! I dont have an option to give zero rating so giving 1. We booked the service apartment for brigade, however received call from suvarna residency stating that brigade is alloted to some police ppl due to emergency & that they will provide an alternate better place. Took me to a remote village where they showed a 2bhk apartment with ongoing painting work. I denied the place & then they offered me another place which is 20 mins drive from the 2nd location, where it was a small room with cigarette smell dominant inside both the rooms. The didnt had the courtesy to understand that I was traveling along with 2 senior citizen & my 2 years twin babies. In this location search we didnt get time to eat lunch. When followed up with receptionist she said there isn't any available rooms. It was so easy for them to say rooms not available when we as consumers book the place in advance thinking that we shall have a good vacation.
