Disappointing Stay and a Ruined New Year Experience
I had the most disappointing stay and the worst New Year celebration at this property. Here’s a detailed account of my experience:
Stay: Pros: Convenient location inside Infopark. Valet parking and Wi-Fi available.
Cons: Poor service: It took multiple attempts to reach someone over the phone every time I needed assistance. The first room we were given was a disaster—mosquito-infested, with a non-functional TV and AC. A technician came late at night, and we were shifted to another room. The corridors reeked of a foul smell, with carpets that seemed uncleaned for months. Damp walls, dusty furniture, and zero cleanliness for three whole days. No housekeeping staff called or checked in during our stay (perhaps because I didn’t request? No idea). Stains on the bed and curtains were a major eyesore. Toiletries included random items—seven dental kits, two towels, and one soap for three people! It seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing. Pool: On the first day, people were smoking in the pool until 10 PM, so we left. On the second day, pool timings were suddenly changed to close at 9 PM, and when we asked for clarity, no one had any answers.
New Year Celebration:
The New Year’s Eve event was nothing short of a disaster:
The Cinnamon Hall is way too small—more suited for a small office event than a New Year celebration. It was cramped and uncomfortable. Alcohol service stopped much earlier than expected (around 11 PM), which was disappointing but understandable due to local rules. However, the food situation was unacceptable. After the DJ played until midnight, people naturally wanted to eat, but the buffet was closed without any prior notice. There was no mention beforehand that food wouldn’t be available after a certain time. The staff handling the event were unprofessional. Instead of proper hotel employees or managers, bouncers were in charge. These bouncers had no idea how to talk to or manage guests. They were pushing people out of the buffet area, creating a scene, and even had the audacity to say, “I’ll transfer the amount for your food.” Absolutely unacceptable behavior!
This level of mismanagement and substandard treatment from a Marriott property is shocking. If you can’t organize events or provide basic hospitality, don’t host them. People pay to have a good time, not to endure this chaos.
Thank you for ruining the New Year.
Avoid this place if you’re expecting even a basic level of professionalism...

It's a decent property, clean like a five-star hotel would be. But this place is badly run. Staff, starting from the check-in desks to bar or restaurant staff is very unfriendly, at times downright insensitive. There is a grumpy bar-tender; he almost never makes eye-contact, do not acknowledges you for a good ten minutes after you sit down at the bar! And, I do not think he ever smiled in his life.
At the restaurant, food is average, (some people here say 'oh great chemmeen' etc, but that is because they are not used to great Malayali food) but service is plainly terrible. Do you know of a five-star hotel, wherein tables won't have side-plates, pepper shakers, or glass for water, or at times water itself, unless you ask for it? (they keep water in orange coloured glass bottles).
At the buffet breakfast counter: I had served myself Idiyappam, and was reaching for a dish, (chicken mappas) while, six inches from my hand, a waitress removed and took away to kitchen the entire dish I was about to serve myself (mostly for replenishing)! That too, without a word! So I had to place the Idiyappams back and walk away, as there was nothing to go with it. The dish I had thought would accompany the Idiyappams had been taken away from me, literally under my nose!
And, oh yes, I ordered 'egg-fry with two eggs sunny-side-up' for breakfast. And do you believe that the waiter came first with a 'single egg sunny side up' and said: 'Here's one egg sir. I will get the next egg later!' (Which came some eight minutes later. Apparently, someone did not know how to handle two eggs at a time in a pan!
I have never written a Google or Amazon review in my life, and you can imagine how annoyed I am to be motivated to write this after a four-nights stay.
By the way, they sell cigarettes at Rs 803 a pack, and we have a law that requires them to sell it at MRP. (No they are not 'serving' it, but...
Read morePleasant and amicable staff with amazing hospitality, add to that a location which is far from the madding crowd. Four Points Infopark is my go to facility whenever I need to stay in Kochi for business or leisure purposes.
I was so impressed by this facility during my first stay that I’ve continued to opt FP Infopark as aforementioned, and hope I can do justice in jotting down my experience at the facility, after staying here for a total of four plus weeks over a period of two years.
All Spice - One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Not an exaggeration even if I ,add across many countries. However the COVID mess has made it sure that the facility can no longer let us experience that good old All Spice experience.
Caper - Good, nice ambience, changes according to the guest vibe and of course, the COVID19 restrictions. Wouldn’t rate it as the best in town, yet a good choice to spend the evening.
The Eatery - Most of my ‘glitches’ across my four plus weeks experience in FP Kochi was somehow linked to The Eatery. A decent restaurant at the best. Might be because as I’ve experienced All Spice, I tend to compare The Eatery to it during every visit. Definitely not their problem.
Location - This is definitely one of the most decisive factors during my stay, I’ve got a special liking to the comparatively calm and ‘far from the madding crowd’ vibe this location offers.
Staff - The staff’s really pleasant and amicable. They make sure that we do have an amazing stay at the facility. However I’d be honest here, I’ve had many minor glitches during some of my stays, however none of them escalated beyond a particular point. So, extra brownie points for being those awesome selves you’re.The housekeeping, At Your Service, Front Desk, FnB and everyone out there strives to make our stay a...
