With great expectations we had gone to Four points Sheraton for dinner yesterday to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We had high hopes since it's a five star hotel and expected a lavish spread with exotic cuisines and superior taste. It wa quite a disappointment to be honest. Most of the items laid out was the Kerala traditional lunch items like parippu, mezhukuparatti, fish curry, brown rice, etc. The number of dishes were very limited and we have seen so much more in 3&4 star hotels. The cost of the buffet was around 1500Rs per head, quite a rip off I must say. There was absolutely nothing extraordinary about even a single dish that was served. What was really weird to add to it is that the discotheque is just next to the restaurant and we have to pass through that area to enter and exit. The staff are courteous, however there needs to be much more thought involved in the food served. Very very ordinary that hardly suits a five star hotel. I suggest you visit some of the class 4& 5 star hotels around and check out how dinner menus are. Even the seating ambience is just ordinary. Very...
Read moreInitially when we were taken to a table, the table had chairs only on one side, which seemed odd, but they kept chairs on the other side shortly after we sat down, when the waiter bought the plates, he proceeded to keep one plate infront of me and the other one was just kept on the middle of the table, indicating my friend had to do it himself. There were no napkins provided nor tissues even though it can be seen in some tables. We had to ask multiple times just to get a water refil. Finally when the food came, it was neither good or bad and they didn't offer to serve the food either, and this review it's towards the service than the food we received anyways. Post our dinner, we asked for the bill, and nobody seemed to care about it, we could see no one trying to get one either, around 8-10 mins later we reminded them we were waiting for the bill, then we waited a couple of minutes (7-8) and directly went to then bill counter and asked (the bill counter was also empty, till that time). All of this would have been fine, or expected in a small roadside resturant, but not what was expected by...
