Booked three rooms. It is a small resort. So on the positive side you have fewer restrictions and hassles. On the negative side you have fewer systems, personnel and conveniences. Felt more like a upgraded homestay rather than a resort. It is a relatively new property, hence the rooms, furnishings etc. seemed to be in good keep. The room and washroom size is average. The cleanliness of the washroom is a 7/10. The provate balcony is a pleasure and a convenience. Has room to park about 6-7 cars in the common yard. But getting vehicles out from between could turn into a hassle. Toiletries, blankets and drinking water were provided on request. Pros: 1. Peaceful. Aesthetics is above average. 2. Convenient location as far as waterways and access to boat rides is concerned. 3. Affordable and pocket friendly 4. Relatively new, good washroom fittings, furniture. 5. Had no mosquito/bug problems while we were there. 6. They have a separate dining area where they let you have food brought by you, and would provide cutlery. They also cook and arrange food, if you would tell them in advance. 7. They have their own boats (2), which would be ready to take you on a 1.5 hour ride on the estuary. It is a nice experience. 8. Has a pool. But it is very small (250 sqft approx) and 4-4.5 feet deep. Works for a family or two at a time. But would not have space for multiple guests at the same time. Ok for lesuirely goofing around, but not really for swimming. Cons: 1. Crow and ant problems for stuff kept on the balcony. 2. Sparingly furnished rooms. No phone, kettle, hangars, tumblers etc. 3. Vehicles of people coming for boat ride (but not staying at the place) is also parked in the common parking area. 4. Complimentary Breakfast is very limited. Only one variety of any food they decide to make, along with tea. But then you should not expect much better from a small place as this. 5. Slow and casual service, especially in the morning hours. Your request for morning tea would have to wait till the lady chef arrives at her time. Your request for morning tea would additionally have to wait till the guy designated to bring tea (lives nearby) decides it is time to show up. (The caretaker, who is a genuinely nice person and serious about service, would wait and tell them off once they arrive). Breakfast is also proportionately delayed, especially if you would want to dine in the room. I had to go around and turn on the corridor lights. 6. No regular housekeeping. Upkeep and cleaning is not in safe hands. 7. Apparently some of the rooms have a problem with the commode. The flush-out, gets stuck and develops a small blockade. It is a dirty problem to deal with. The caretaker attended to our issue and solved it for us. I haven't stayed at any other places in the locale, so I would refrain from saying whether this place is recommendable. The beach is 2.8 km away by road and is a good one with lake on one side and ocean on the other. We have very few beaches of this kind.

"Kayaloram Resort offers a delightful escape into the serene backwaters of Kerala, and their boating service and floating restaurant truly elevate the experience. The boating service provided by the resort allows guests to explore the enchanting waterways in traditional houseboats, offering breathtaking views of lush greenery and local life along the banks. The highlight of our visit was the floating restaurant, where we indulged in delicious local cuisine while floating gently on the tranquil backwaters. The staff at Kayaloram Resort are exceptionally hospitable and attentive, ensuring that every moment spent on the boat and at the restaurant was enjoyable and memorable. They provided insightful information about the surroundings and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our experience. I highly recommend Kayaloram Resort to anyone seeking a unique and immersive backwater experience in Kerala. Whether you're looking to unwind with a peaceful boat ride or savor authentic Kerala flavors in a picturesque setting, Kayaloram Resort delivers an unforgettable experience."

Dear fellow Citizens/ Travelers , This is our sincerest of thoughts and expression of our satisfying experience in respect of Poovar Kayolaram resort at Poovar Back waters and poovar Golden sand beach – Stay.||||||At the outset (before dwelling more at length) to put; It in simple words (briefly) in respect of the above stay at Poovar Kayoloram Resort managed by Mr. Rajesh is;||||- Very- Very nice Experience||||- Sincere and Hospitable ||||-Safe and Economical||||- Enjoyable||||||Further, the greatest of all, the Poovar – Back Water hours of Boat ride and on to Golden sand beach and the Floating Restaurant guided by Mr. Rajesh was Magnificent. ||||||The food/ dinner, at Kayoloram resort was very good. If you like to have chilled beer Mr. Rajesh would be helpful in arranging if told in advance, also food – Fish, chicken, chapatti, rice, etc). For breakfast, generally it would be Dosa like Items and if you wish to have Bread Omlette like, tell in advance.|||||| - The Floating Restaurant advised by Mr. Rajesh at Poovar Back water – Golden sand beach sea-front was very good (Fish – Chicken – Parota – Rice – Noodle etc.) ||||||- After Spending hours of Back Water Boat ride amongst bushes, shrubs, mangroves, coconut trees and ordering food in advance at the above floating restaurant in advance. After spending some time on the golden sand beach, then spending couple of hours at the Floating Restaurant with cool Breeze blowing across, from the beach / shore in front is truly magnificent and enjoyable. (Only thing is night not open – 6 PM close.||||||Furthermore, the stay and experience at Poovar Kayoloram Resort was not like some conventional Hotel stay but was more of a homely atmosphere.||||||Apart from the above/ along with the above, I shall not fail to make a mention about the travel – cab arrangement (since we planned 3 day visit – Kanyakamari – Trivandrum Kovalam beach and Poovar Backwater – Stay).||||||The Cab service Provided by Mr. Kamal (from nearby Nagercoil – Kanyakumari location) as recommended by Mr. Rajesh of Poovar Kayoloram Resort , the cab service provided for 2 – days to all 4 places as above was very good ( Mr. Kamal). ||||||Furthermore, we also recommend our fellow citizens / traveler’s to male it atleast 3 day trip to visit all about 4 places Enjoy Poovar Back Water and Golden Sand Beach stay at Poovar Kayoloram Resort and cover kanyakumari (Vivekananda Rock Memorial – sunrise and sunset) ||-Tiruvanantapuram / Trivandrum - Ananta Padminabha Centuries old temple along with en route kovalam beach and all are very good and enjoyable.||||||In fact, in our considered opinion since Trivandrum (Capital of Kerala) is well connected to all places / States by Air and Rail and from Trivandrum, Poovar Back water – Golden sand beach is quite near as about 35 Km and from Kanyakumari also Poovar is about 70 Km (within a reach of 100 Km – 4 places) it is better to make Poovar Back water (Kayoloram Resort – Stay) as central Point. |||||| 2 – night stay at Poovar Kayoloram Resort ||||- Plan Trivandrum Temple (40 Km) and return||||- Plan to Kanyakumari (70 Km) and return||||- Poovar Back Water boat ride – Golden beach Floating restaurant – Full day once in the morning and Conclude in the evening sun-set time.||||||Thus, you can enjoy different Tourism features comprising – Back water Beauty – (Poovar) – History and culture (Vivekananda Rock Memorial) (Kanyakumari) – Temple at Trivandrum : World’s richest Temple fortune worth about 5 lakh-Crores of rupees in today’s value and Kovalam beautiful beach experience.||||||Summarising all the above, and in the above contet, Plan and stay at Poovar Kayoloram Resort – (Mr. Rajesh) supported by cab-service (Mr. Kamal) is highly recommended and enjoyable , safe and economical too and worth making it a trip 3 - day as explained above and you will not regret. ||||||( Note : At Trivandrum you can purchase Kerala Traditional off – white Saree, At Kanyakumari –(Nagercoil) try Kerala Banana Chips at Bakery on mainroad and if non-Vegetarian, try Prabhus Nagercoil famous Chicken Biriyani Since 40 years). In Kovalam beach, sit across the beach front restaurant and enjoy Pakoda, French fries, Chicken Nuggets etc. ||||||Thank you and wish again to make it yet another eventful trip at Poovar Kayoloram Resort also in the mean while trying to encourage and wish more success to young entrepreneurs Mr. Rajesh and also Mr. Kamal as above. ||||||Lastly, 1 am writing this of as a middle class family person preferring budget category trip and stay (and not hi fi luxury or star hotel type) and in this context such resorts at budget category are Very good and safe too. (I am not telling about honeymoon couples or rich category people who prefer to have luxury stay like is Island hotels). ||||||Also, A part from individual family, this Poovar Kayoloram resort is very good and economical and suitable for group of families since it has 4 rooms (2 ground floor of 2 first floor, down stair common Dining Table) where in the rooms totally 12 persons could be accommodated and if additional Persons/families are there, then you can ask Mr. Rajesh who can arrange for adjacent /nearby home stay resort at reasonable price. Then you all family group can make Kayoloram resort as a centre / meeting point and those additional persons can go to adjacent homestay & for night sleep. All this will Prove & very economical with good enjoyable atmosphere and food. ||||||This elaborate review of experience I have written on my own also as a Professional engineer and with sincerity to both towards the place, host and My conscience and because when we are happy with something we have to express it Properly and adequately and whole heartedly. ||||Contact Number:||Mr Rajesh (Poovar Kayaloram Resort) 08139031924||||Mr Kamal (Cab Service) 9944445565||||Regards,||||Mr & Mrs Satish Chandra Scindia- Engineer||||Mr and Mrs Lakshmiprasad...

I've stayed there with my family for 1 night and 1 day and it was a nice experience. The problem was we went on a Saturday, therefore all the rooms in the resort were booked. But luckily, there was a lodge like setup made specially for this purpose. If you are the kind of person who loses interest in the first look, then the lodge will not be a great idea, as there is a public gent's toilet at the entrance to the stairs leading up to the room. The toilet is there for people who avail boating services situated nearby. About the room itself, they weren't clean to begin with. We took 3 rooms and we found out the one room has a TV which doesn't work and all the rooms looked like they needed serious cleanup. But they did say they were understaffed coz of the pandemic. So that's a pass. All the rooms had attached toilets but 2 rooms had toilet which was just 5m square, really cramped and small. Fortunately, the toilets were clean. Every room had attached AC but if you want non-AC rooms, it is also there (No different rooms they just switch off the AC from the main switch in the office). Food is not available in the lodge itself and you'll have to travel 2 kms to Arabian Nights hotel for lunch and dinner. There is an option to deliver the food to the lodge and food takes typically 35-40 mins to get to the rooms. Food was decent and it's at an affordable price. Breakfast is not served there so you might have to go elsewhere for that. But one plus point of the lodge is the staff, as they were very polite and was always ready to help no matter the time. They were very friendly and ensured that we had the best experience possible. Another main attraction to this hotel is its boating service. It's a 1 ½ hour boating service which takes you through different locations in the neyyar River. I suggest doing it early morning before the outside tourists come. Prices vary with the seasons so keep that in mind too. The rooms are prices at 1800 per day (subject to change). Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I suggest you...
