Everything was perfect. Jyothish's hospitality and cooking is amazing and it is good value. He put me in contact with Jithin who arranges Theyyam visits - I caught a fire Theyyam which was one of the best most intense experiences of my life. The building is clean, rustic and cool in the forest. I saw a civet and some huge bats there too. The beaches nearby are silent and picture perfect, especially at sunset. I stayed for 2 nights, 3 might have been more ideal especially if you want to see a Theyyam. The villagers nearby are extremely friendly and curtious. I felt so welcome and hope to return. Transport can also be arranged for you to the station/airport for minimal cost.

I'm a very experienced traveller and this is a top tier location to visit.

I looked into other places and this was cheaper including everything.

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful homestay by the beach in Kannur. The hospitality was truly outstanding from the warm and attentive caretaker to the delicious home style food that made me feel completely at ease. Though the rooms are small they are incredibly cozy and absolutely spick and span. The attention to cleanliness and detail was remarkable. An absolute hidden gem in North Kerela. Literally had a pristine private paradise beach all to myself, for normal guest house prices. Staff were always available, and helped with everything, from food to transport, even sorting out a once in a lifetime trip to see the Theyamm rituals.
